If youre like me that'll take all week. I always end up going slower and slower as I get near home in a Xantia because I don't want to get out.

I've got home safely. I didn't get to push on in the twisty bits, there was far too much rain for that. However the overtaking ability is great, it did get tested on a few occasions! I did enjoy the run today, despite the rain. So the total mileage covered is 613, fuel cost £125. That was starting from full and filling up once home. I just did a partial fuel at a service's on the M74, wasn't going to fill it at £1.29 IIRC. The mpg works out at 25.9 that's for either nose to tail on the m1 yesterday, and hard driven else where. The ponies were getting worked hard at times, quite a few 3rd gear overtakes of lorries, bussed and drivers generally being a pain in the butt lol. I'm not working out mpg on this car again, it wasn't bought for economy! I need to rest for about a week now lol

Glad to hear you got home safely Davie!

The loonies on one of the Facebook groups will claim that you should be able to get 30+ from a manual TCT. I believe this to be as truthful as the Haynes Manual.

I'm a loony then because I regularly get well over 30 from mine. Best ever was 39.

I will freely admit I'm not one for using much of the available performance though; that makes a big difference...

Ahh well, these things happen Steve. I saw James off at the station this morning after feeding him a good breakfast. He must be nearly there now.

I've only just got up from bed. Very poorly today....

I've used half a tank on two runs in two days, one to wirral and one to burnley. not long distances at all but spent all of it on boost! in contrast i used half a tank to do 400 odd miles when i drove like miss daisy!

Remap by a reputable place is dead easy and unless you want silly increases, involves no getting oily at all. Mine's given me a 32bhp increase on a 90bhp motor and 55lbft extra.

Could I get a similar % increase on a petrol car for £130? One that actually makes it more economical when driven normally? It's actually made it faster and more economical when it's hammered too..

I wonder why it is not an OEM map then ?

Actually I was speaking to Mr Walsh about just this subject and am seriously tempted. Not so much concerned about the power boost as the increased economy - mine is better now but still tragic.
It will of course see off the clutch so maybe just buy another car.
Been offered a SAAB 900 cabriolet for £0.00 that I might be tempted by.

The usual reasons are that it would make a vehicle compete with others in the range - after all, the difference between the 70bhp Berlingo van and the 92bhp one is simply the map, no hardware changes.. tax reasons, insurance reasons, the fact the majority of people didn't want or need a 123bhp Berlingo in 2005. The fact most buyers probably did not require a car that will spin the wheels in 2nd (3rd in the wet!) if you're ham-fisted with it.. how many reasons do you want?

It would cost more - better brakes are needed, higher rated tyres... not really necessary for 95% of Berlingo drivers I'd think.
