Re: Davie's Activa Clutch
Jim ... your pics are reallu useful but is it possible to post them so's that they can be 'clicked' to open in a separate window, my eys are not that good and enlarging an image helps. What do you use for posting?

Re: Davie's Activa Clutch
Those images won't do that but you can download them and open in your image viewer then enlarge them.

And Mike, they also appear on Facebook. Become friends with me there and you'll have that functionality...

Re: Davie's Activa Clutch
Just wondered how othere images allow you to click and enlarge in one that's all ... if it's not a quick fix then that's ok.
As for Facebook

Depends mainly where they are hosted and partly on the image itself.xantiamanic wrote:Just wondered how othere images allow you to click and enlarge in one that's all ... if it's not a quick fix then that's ok.
As for Facebook
PhotoBucket, Imgur, Flickr! and ImageShack will generally allow it.

Sorry, missed that - works perfectly for me.xantiamanic wrote:Just wondered how othere images allow you to click and enlarge in one that's all ... if it's not a quick fix then that's ok.

Right click - "Save Image As" and it will download for you or may even open directly in your image viewer (Paint?)

Re: Davie's Activa Clutch
Got a bit more done this afternoon despite the weather
Sunny and dry but a wicked cold wind
Removed the LHM reservoir, the ABS block bracket, Activa Accumulator sphere and bracket, turbo hose and intake hose, pressure regulator and no doubt some other small items...
The ABS block has not been removed as it will pull far enough away from its bracket with all pipes still attached to allow the bracket to be removed and thus expose the gearbox top mount...
The gearbox is slowly becoming exposed

And the pile of bits removed is stating to grow nicely:

Davie, I popped your main accumulator sphere on the tester and it's at 42bars - 20 down on what it should be..

If you wanted to tidy my engine bay and get it 1/2 as good as yours I'm sure I wouldn't mind [emoji4]CitroJim wrote:Come up and do it then Alasdair, I'm sure Davie won't mindStickyfinger wrote:My ocd is twitching.....I so want to get in there and clean/treat those brown bits and paint them

What difference is that sphere being down on pressure going to make Jim? Can they be pumped up? Does it need replaced?

Re: Davie's Activa Clutch
The sphere being a bit down won't make a lot of difference Davie, it's just something to be taken note of and will need to be looked at again in about a year I'd say.. In the meantime keep an ear on your regulator tick rate and if it falls below 30 seconds then the accumulator is due to be replaced...
Plieades can blow them up but they're not expensive new..
I've got your Activa Accumulator off (the rusty one still attached to its bracket) but have not tested it yet. That one has a Valprex valve on it and anyone with a compatible gassing rig can blow it up. That one is a special as it's in the form of an Anti-Sink sphere but blown up to 62 bars... So, if it's badly down or flat only a regas will work for those...
A sign it's down or flat is the car twitches from side to side when stationary and often the twitch coincides with a tick from the regulator...

Re: Davie's Activa Clutch
It is sad ........but I would if I could but as you know next week is really busy with 5 rads to deliver to Windsor Castle (One to build on site as it is so long) and some x19 arriving tomorrow to paint in a "polished effect" finish.
If it is still in bits the week after I will Jim ...I cannot be doing with putting old bolts/nuts back in, they have to be new and galvanised with a slip of waxoil applied even when hidden inside an ECU Box
The guy at Plyidies said that weak accumulator spheres "strain" the regulator spring.....??

I'm sure it'll still be in bits the week after Alasdair... Now I'm back to work, progress will not be so rapid...
