Is that so Davie, just 28 left? That's a heck of a rate of attrition... On that basis we know the whereabouts of most of them...

Yes, current road tax. There's also xantia turboactiv 11 listed, don't know exactly what that is, the 26 are listed as xantia activa turbo. Could mean 37 cars taxed

Assistance to get the gearbox back married to the engine is now arranged for this weekend, weather permitting

Meanwhile there's not a lot to be done but just before it started to rain this afternoon I installed the OS handbrake cable... An easy job, just be careful to ensure the cable passes through all the guide rings as it's easy to miss one...

As I said earlier, access to the compensator, where the other end of the cable goes, is a bit marginal on an Activa. Here's a picture to show just how marginal it is... The big rusty thing in the picture is the cat! That's how close it all is



The bits of random shiny metal is the heat shield...

Another place where little girly hands are a great asset

I'll pop the NS cable in (actually a bit easier) as soon as it arrives...

Yes, just one big reassembly job after that Davie and it shouldn't take long... Reassembly is always easier than disassembly as you know you're not fighting stuff that's been happily resident for many years and is reluctant to come apart...

I'd say borrow mine for a few days but the logistics are a bit tricky!

I've just had a call from rev transfers. They have tried to contact the owners of the reg I'm interested in and left several messages with no response. They will try again in a few days [emoji12] [emoji13]

Now that's interesting because I see no sign of anyone unknown to me trying to contact me bar for some kind soul on Hotmail trying to flog me little blue pills.

Maybe they're writing to me?

Or, have they tried to contact the previous owner of the plate I wonder?

Good point Davie...

They could conceivably get my address as keeper from DLVA and write to me but I don't believe DVLA have my email address or phone numbers unless they record them when they are submitted during on-line tax renewal...
