Well that is embarrassing.....I am surprised considering the number of Citroen's that go there......sorry
Don't worry not your fault? Thanks for trying to help though and if you can think of anything else i'm all ears.

Well it's just they've been going for donkey's years supplying spheres and correcting all sorts of Citroen suspension issues - and as the move has gone from the original hydraulic system to the newer electronic - hydraulic systems, these have specific ECUs that control and both send and receive information to the various other systems in the car. Not having a Lexia to fault find and adjust the settings is like trying to navigate around 'The Magic Roundabout' in Swindon with a blindfold on!

I suppose it all comes down to money as i had a letter from citroen saying that the last run of c5's are being built now and even pleiades said the x7 suspension was bullet proof (not the one fitted to mine though).

The car is lovely its just a shame that i can't get the suspension "set up" correctly, even on ebay there are x7's with 260,000 miles on the clock and it was a struggle for me to find mine with only 66k on it with full main dealer history (when i bought the car i did mention to seller that it looks a bit high at the front?but he said its always been like that)

Yep, last days of the RHD C5 X7s - only available to April to be ordered and not many decent spec'd ones in the Country, so they'll be snapped up as per the announcement in the post:

The reason i bought mine as they are different from the usual BMW/AUDI/VW/FORD and do the same job but are still a little bit quirky and when spec'd up are a nice comfortable cruiser.

They are nice. The X7s are more robust so far in my experience, more 'solid' and do cocoon you. Some issues like any other car - but with regular maintenance and some TLC should serve well. Don't despair yet - if you can get someone to read any faults that may be present and have a look over her, that will be the starting point for any further action.

I am past the point of no return considering the purchase price but i have a little bit left over for maintenance and don't want to throw money at it (my previous car was a renault scenic that was 100% reliable and never let me down) so after 4 years of saving hard and 2 months of trawling ebay & autotrader i thought i had found my comfy family transport ,.

Hopefully she still will be! In the interim, if you're interested in a copy of your spec. sheet for your vehicle, just drop me a PM with your VIN and an email and I'll get this off to you. It'll tell you exactly what you have, date of manufacturer, RPO etc., and all the trim and kit / options etc.

Thanks for that,What would you suggest my next course of action should be?

Looking at options:
I guess it was a private sale? - Did you query whether the previous owner took out an extended warranty? They cover cars over 3 years old with under 70k miles and can be renewed annually by invite? If so this would be covered under the warranty.
If above not an option - is there a reason why you can't take it back to the main dealer who replaced the height correctors and argue that it is still not right - and also query whether they calibrated the system properly when this work was done. If you can prove the pump is working fine - (system lowers and raises the car ok and that fluid levels are fine) ask them to justify how that arrive at a faulty pump? Ask to see the diagnostic report (let them know you understand these things) and that you will be in contact with Citroen UK after getting a second opinion if you think you are being fed any bull***t.
Next option would be to get a second opinion from another Main Dealer as you are not convinced - ask for a quote for a diagnostic and report first, then decide.
Next would be to post here for a member with an C5 X7 that has a known working kit for this vehicle. Might be worth a spin to a member's location for a session (weigh up against cost of a diagnostic and travel to and from another Main Dealer).
Once you have the codes (if any) and any possible troubleshooting pointers. Try and get a printout (or a PDF copy that can be saved onto a flash drive or emailed) of the diagnostic and any faults.
Then you can post back with some key information to try and solicit further help Dave. :-D

Also Dave - almost forgot, here's another post on the X7 suspension height measurements etc., that might be worth a read:
