Just a thought... Who supplies Citroen with their pads? Cannot envisage them making their own.

I do believe that the genuine Citroen brake pads are actually TRW ...

Good info vbrovic! They have good reports on here and I guess all "top" marques would be good, having used many of the brands mentioned over many many years! Quite a worry isn't it as the only means of stopping/slowing quickly - brick walls not included. Tyres come in the same category as the contact patch is small and the only thing between you and the road and even more important in the mix assuming the brake rotors can be stopped!!

Some Citroen pads are made by Bosch. Calipers too. All different for various models and caliper types.
You might not always be able to buy the exact spec that was called for by Citroen. That can be the case across many gen Citroen parts.
In general, aftermarket parts are only required to last for the minimum warranty period. Parts on a new car last a lot longer that that.
Batteries are a case in point. I always find the battery that is supplied new with the car, is the longest lasting.

I found that with the battery too. Original lasted over 5 years. Replacement is dropping into economy mode very quickly after just two years. Must get it on the trickle charger overnight.
