Next time you see this, take a photo of the sign with the price on it and another photo of the price on the pump - send both to Trading Standards and let them investigate.

Definitely do this!!!
Boot on the other foot once with my wife, she'd had a bellyful of reps trying to sell her stuff in the shop while she was serving and doing up orders, two smart suited men came in to be greeted with, "I'm not buying anything today bog off!"..................... "Madam we're the trading standards department inspectors." :-D

Reminds me of the time my ex was getting plagued by cold calls from a loft insulation company. " I don't need it" or "I don't want it" were not acceptable answers so instead I agreed for the chap to come down to Watford from Peterborough to give her a quotation providing he came on Sunday morning at 09.00. He sounded overjoyed and agreed to come as requested. You can imagine his face when he arrived to discover she lived in a ground floor maisonette!!! :-D

Back to the original topic. I filled up the 308 with diesel yesterday at £1.797 per litre. That was at Costco though. I checked a few other local places and cheapest was ASDA at £1.847.

Didn't get price of petrol I'm afraid. Petrol? What's that?

The RAC says that the UK has had some of the smallest reductions in fuel duty while prices are high.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-62371732

Amongst those that have made a reduction, only Luxembourg has had a smaller decrease. It's interesting they pick that out, as Luxembourg has some of the lowest prices anyway.

I drove to Germany and back a month ago, filling up in Luxembourg twice at €1.997 and €1.971 a litre. A couple of weeks later it was €1.836, then €1.749, now back up to €1.816

I usually reckon Luxembourg is 25 to 30 pence a litre cheaper than the best prices here. A couple of weeks ago that was 45 to 50 pence.

Somehow normal price competition here seems to have vanished, not only on car fuel, but stuff in the shops too, things up from £1.25 to £1.75, and so on.

Probably working on the principle that people are so punch-drunk with all the other price rises that they won't notice another one.

I just discovered I should have zoomed out the search on the petrolprices website.

Usually I fill up at either Sainsbury's 2.5 miles northwest or Asda 4.5 miles south of here.

These are 1.909 and 1.887 at the moment, but it turns out the Sainsbury's 6.5 miles SSE is 1.859

I've seen it at 184.9 at a BP, so it's finally going down. Can anyone confirm that Asda petrol stations are selling it alot cheaper? Something I heard on the radio...
