:(

How do you overcome the "knock" retarding things ? Remapping ?

Yes. Either a remap of the custom chip that is in it atm, or a unit from dp-engineering.

That'll be an interesting fitment to a CT... Hard to see how that manifold will fit in the space available, there's not a lot of room available!

You are quite right there is no room, but impossible only takes a little longer to get right ;)
Fits all XU 8v engines. Does not fit the 406 / Xantia engine bay (without seriously modifying the firewall).
http://www.dp-engineering.nl/shop-1/tur ... ld-v2.html

The turbo will sit on top at the rear of the bay when it is installed btw.
I'm not too scared of modifying the engine bay. What is more of an issue is what is on the other side of that firewall :-D

But to underscore; this install is not a priority . (until it suddenly is)

You have all what is behind the dash on the other side of the firewall Hans, the heater box is right there in the middle so any modifications to the firewall will need some changes to the heater box.. Perhaps do without a heater?

At least you'll never have to worry about a leaky heater matrix

I shall be watching this with great interest..

At least the TCT engine is pretty much bombproof and should be well able to take the power increase.. I already know of a TCT running very high power and it is great (scary) fun to drive!

YEs, i fear what is behind there. I have written a mail to the Netherlands and asked if they have customers who has done the mod. Fingers crossed

Forgive me for updating the mundane, but I'm using this as a log just as much as a ..blog :p

Image

This is the engine bay of a Peugeot 406 sporting the 8v engine and the turbo kit i got. Do not understand the talk of a snug fit :p
Got feedback from dp-engineering today. They had not installed the kit I got , but went on to made a v3 of the manifold for this engine . That version
does not need mods on the firewall. Bummer that it costs 668 euros and that i already got a manifold costing the same ..

I've contacted some Peugeot dudes in search for someone with knowledge of the extent of the mods needed. If its too much i will sell the manifold i got to someone with a 205 etc .
There it fits without problems .

I know, thus i put a :p after my statement about fitment ;) Especially since you can see the snug fit in the 406 bay.

:rofl2:

No, they used a crow-bar and broke that too...

The standard 406 SRi with the 8V TCT had no more room behind than the Xantia as I recall...

They're easier to do as they don't have a big LHM reservoir taking up space in the engine bay...

I believe they still have to move the battery to the boot though...
