Assembled the hydrothingie again . Sanded the worst of the rust and treated the thingie with a thin layer of some special sauce that
will at least make it look a little better :)
Image

The thingie back in the car. At least it looks nice :p I found out when fiddling today that i got some money spending to do on the brake lines. (lots of sticky icky rust)
A complete brake line set for the car is 500 pounds so it will have to wait a little.

So .. is it leak proof ?

Heck if I know. My glorious 40 amp battery stolen from my VW bug did not like -12c so after a turn it decided to keel over :p
Tomorrow i'm visiting for a birthdayparty at my uncles, but i will sneak into the garage to put a charger on it - and see if i can bring another proper battery back to life.
Quality battery but its down to 7 volts so I'm doubtful. The cars own real expensive Optima battery showed .5 volts ......

Looks good, well done 8-)
What's with the 2 disconnected large hydraulic lines to the right of the picture? (despite having been under there myself, I can't recall anything about the plumbing off the top of my head! )

Maybe the rear ram flexi pipes which were removed for access (i think)?

There's a pic earlier in the discussion showing aforementioned pipes in place ... or do you mean some other 'missing' pipework?

:)....now tell me you don't like the access panel in the floor :) ....how much fun would that of been from under the car/above the subframe.

A note: DO NOT damage/split that 4 way resin return line block....they are imposable to find :)

that access hole, sticky, is simply brilliant. When i reinstalled the shabackle i did not spend a single second below the car.

Could not wait until tomorrow so i drove over to my uncle (only 10 mins) and put some voltage on the battery and started the car up.
Hydraulics worked like a charm and no leaks to be spotted. Lets cross fingers it stays that way.

What did leak was some fuel line in the engine compartment.

Image
What i hope is that the rubber underneath the "bling" is rotted and not some leaky connector. It's rather high pressure so when i tried to
disconnect the fuel line without releasing the pressure i got a nice spray of gasoline all over myself :) Hopefully this is an easy fix and it explains the mess in the engine.

Got some time to remove the drivers seat ... need to get it all out to remove all them darn audio cables and what not the previous owner wants back .
It's not too bad thou since it makes cleaning the carpets properly much easier.
Image

was a little disappointed to learn that the electric seats move back and forth manually :/ ... while its probably for the best .. less to brake .

Excellent to hear no leaks from the valve :D =D>

Get those fuel leaks fixed as soon as possible Hans as they're dangerous... Those fuel pipes are not standard. They look like replacements and not good ones either...

That "braided hose" looks like "After Market Covers" stuff to me as it is loose and the collars are not swaged on.....as per the stuff from Daemon Tweaks etc
I wonder what is under it ?

the braided stuff is indeed just a cover . i'll remove them all as they at this time just hide any wrong doings beneath.
was about to do it yesterday but it was nearing midnight and the fuel pressure and me not knowing
how to release it meant calling it a day .

I quite like it :). if there is a leak you can still see it as it just bleeds out of it anyway, very ...race car :)
