That diagram was the last iteration for the XM (probably the last car to used the 30-pin connector), which included the features for the rare (French market-only) XMs with multiplexed wiring, which were a test-bed for the C5 wiring system. I believe that all the multiplexed XMs were 2.1TD (EPIC), so it is not obvious that they had a separate cruise ECU, but maybe something else did.
