James May met one of the artists Roy Cross who was responsible for the artwork on many airfix boxes. Seems like the company airbrushed out some of the dramatic elements of his work in later years.CitroJim wrote:I think my disappointment with them was they never looked like the box photos however carefully you made and painted them...
