So yesterday arrived my new radiator for V6. So today (hopefully) is the day that I will finally get the car going. So I'm just wondering if spheres from TCT Activa are interchangeable with a V6 Activa. I have good spheres on the TCT that was broken for bits so I would like to use them. I think that the front wheel spheres are shut on V6 because it is really stiff on the front but bounces nice in the back....

Yes, spheres will be interchangeable Hans...

All the best with fitting the new radiator Hans.. It's not difficult and it is a blessing the hoses do not use the horrid bayonet connectors as on the TCT!

I look forward to hearing about your progress ;)

The Beast is AWAKE! I forgot how much fun Activa is, especially a V6

Done quite a bit of work on it; cam belt, oil, coolant, air filter, my mod of hydraulic returns, repaired degasser tank, rear strut collar, rear height regulator outer seal, activa plastic bushes, new radiator, brakes bleed...
Still work to be done but now at least it's a runner :-D

Well odd thing happened yesterday... I just cleaned the whole car inside and outside and then went for a spin... After a few km windows started to fog heavily and I put the blower commands to max and some smoke came behind the dashboard  I immediately stop and turn off ignition to check what the f***. I thought that the blower started to burn. A brief inspection didn't give any results so I started the car and tested the controls for blower speeds and everything worked ok with no smoke. But the fog didn't go away :? Probably the heater matrix started to leak... I have a new at home which I intended to replace but didn't find the time as I was to eager to drive the beast! But looks like I will not get away with it...

Did you have the aircon turned on ? A leak in an aircon evaporator can also release a smoke like fog - have had it happen to me before, but not in a Xantia.

BTW if the heater matrix only leaks under pressure and you need to get home - just loosen the coolant expansion vessel cap gently then leave it slightly loose so pressure can't build up. That should stop it leaking enough to get you home as the matrix won't be pressurised now. Don't drive hard or fast though because it could boil the coolant which could damage the heads... Just take it easy.

No, not at all Xantos. It's just an empty sphere..
Not quite... The angle of the input tube is designed to cause a swirl so that bubbles will tend to move towards the centre, and the vent outlet to the header tank is in the centre at the top.
If only the LHM tank had such a de-gasser for the return oil flows... :-D
