Nailed it, well done!! :-D

It is the 1.6 Diesel Nissan X-Trail which does pull surprisingly well for the size and type of car!! She loves filling it with all the family's water sports gear and driving down to Dorset!! :-D

This is all getting very cryptic Mick :) I'm rubbish at anything like this...

By a process of elimination, and going on the screamer clue I'll go for a Honda S2000 or another Honda with that magical engine that red-lines at 9K :D I drove one once after doing some spannering on it... Awesome!

Or is it an NSX? Gorgeous cars...

Unfortunate Jim but it usually comes to us all, I am waiting for my juvenile cataracts to reach the stage where they will be operable and, judging by friend's results, I will then be better off than I am at the moment. However the specs are second nature now and only cause a little more diffraction of light sources than the naked eyes in their current state!! :(

That's what I've got Mick... Mine are very young juveniles currently... All I know who've had them done when the time comes are delighted with the results so we do have something to look forward to :)

Whilst out and about today, Mrs Bobins came across this unusual pattern in a frozen puddle. Probably a technical name for it somewhere :-D

Had mine done, one about five years ago the other in December, amazing the difference, still need specs for reading the small print and to balance the different eye lenses but I've been driving without specs for the last month first time I've been able to do that for over thirty years.

That's excellent Eric :-D

I've been wearing 'specs for years now although you'll rarely see me wearing them in pictures as I only need them for close work and reading. I have thin varifocal lenses in a thin three-quarter frame so I can easily look over the top of them for longer range without having to constantly remove them...

And here's hoping that 'soon' is still some way off Steve [-o<

Sunrise over a frosty (but not quite so cold as yesterday) Bury Field Common :)
bfsunrise200123.jpg

Ran it to complete an early parkrun pre-event course check... A critical task to ensure the the course is safe and runnable. It passed on both counts today with the mud and marshy areas frozen like permafrost...

I'll be checking it in the morning again just before the event. If we have a thaw today and it does not refreeze overnight parts of it will be very boggy and potentially unrunnable...

Especially if this sheet of ice melts! We almost have a natural ice rink here ;)

You may remember that back in November I posted a picture here. If you had a revisit you will have seen that that was posted on 3rd November. Since that date our neighbours and us have reported the problem to the council via the website, by telephone and personal visits probably at least 50 times.

Towards the end of November they sent a work crew who rodded the drain in the middle of the lake and watched the water drain gently before departing. Probably about 10% actually drained at that point before they left and within an hour it rained and the lake returned to its original size. The next dozen or so complaints were met with "It has been signed off as dealt with!".

We kept complaining as the state went from lake to pond to lake to pond to puddle to lake to pond to lake to skating rink and so on, you get the idea!!

Finally today a council officer turned up in his Audi and examined the site. He then promised a crew would be here this afternoon to deal with the problem. They turned up a couple of hours later and 'dealt' with the problem!!

This is what we have now:
Spoiler: show

Anyone for curling? :-D

Bring it to the attention of your local councillor, should get it moving. He or she may well attend and see it is done correctly if you explain how it has dragged on.

Already involved Steve, I have a decent working relationship with him and contacted him in December to get him on the case but basically it is a question of resources and priorities. It is only a residential crescent and as such only a minor issue as far as they are concerned!! :)
