A reasonable goal would be 5 different contributors to a POTD day.

With my own effort here, taken this very late afternoon that makes 4 different contributors today. Anyone going to chip in and be contributor number 5, this Monday 31st October 2022 :?:

Taken during a very windy bike ride today with rain always threatening...

This image seemed to capture it nicely...

Good to see what I assume to be the winter wheat crop coming along a treat too 😀 I'm no expert on growing cereals but enjoy eating the end result 😋

Perfect summary of the Northumberland Weather scene today as well. On my wander with the camera I was thinking as a gusty and cold Westerly wind was blowing in my face, unsurprisingly photography is just a snap shot...difficult to portray windiness!
A flag like the Percy Lion tail is the best windiness photo I came up with!

Apparently it was a bit breezy down here last night :?

Spent the day sawing up the top of an oak tree that blew out of the tree last night. All the logs from it have gone in to storage and will be subject to thermal recycling next year :-D This is the stack of branches awaiting drier days so I can move them up to the bonfire site without turning everything overly muddy.

Started the annual clear up of leaves today. Although it doesn't look it, that's about 5 foot tall :-D I believe burning trees is regarded as carbon neutral - if it's good enough for Drax, it's good enough for me

It must be OK as our ultra environmentally-conscious Milton Keynes Parks Trust burn loads and loads of scrub this time of the year and heaps of overgrown willow so if it's OK for them...

Burning such material returns valuable potash to the soil...

:( Yet another overnight down pour has turned our road into a lake:
Own work
Own work
As you can see it is on the verge of breaching the ridge and running down into our neighbour's garage and possibly even the house. It has been reported to the council at least 4 times to my knowledge before today and I have just sent this picture to them in the hope that they will at least come and pump the water away even if they don't sort out the blocked drains which cause it. I shouldn't think it would take a fire service pump more than 10 minutes to pump the water down to the drainage dyke at the bottom of the road but they seem to be too busy doing free smoke alarm tests around the town!! :(

However, on a brighter note, it would appear that my comment about roses on Tuesday was false! Despite the horrendous weather overnight our pink rose is making a valiant effort at another blooming!!: :)
