I do like that dockyard, i was hoping to go back recently before my year long ticket expired but didn't get the chance. I want to explore the attractions at Gosport more and have another go on F8 as i've not been on it since it was repainted although if im not mistaken Boathouse 4 operates seasonally.
Music keeps me going.

I can't find any reference to seasonal opening for Boathouse 4 at the moment, though it appears to have been closed in the past. We saw a few people out in F8, but you could count the numbers on the fingers of 2 fingers :? We missed seeing the big wet airstrip by about 12 hours as it was towed out at 11.30pm the previous night - off for some repairs. Apparently a propshaft coupling had shattered within the ship sending chunks of metal all over the place  They hadn't even got past the Isle of Wight before it went bang #-o The Babcock divers had only just finished removing the propellor and it was towed out fairly smartish once they'd finished.

Thanks very much for those kind comments Neil, it's good to know people enjoy the contributions. They are motivated by the brilliant bunch of people on here, so far I've only managed to actually meet nine of you but I hope to meet many more as time goes by. If all goes to plan I hope to get the South Coast tour underway next spring/summer and get some more names on the visited list! :-D

Further to that would it be a good idea to have a weekend FCF gathering at a midlands venue next year I wonder? To avoid bogging down POTD I'll start a thread for that idea and edit in a link here! :-D

The Extra window in the middle tells us this is an RML, RML 2554 to be precise.

The RML is the high capacity version of the Routemaster designed for the major central London routes. The extra capacity was obtained by adding a 2ft 4in bay in the centre of the body and is instantly recognisable due to the square windows that rather look like an afterthought (which, of course, they were!).

RMLs 880-903 were the experimental batch which were subsequently followed by the main batch of 500 vehicles (2261 to 2760). The last one of all, RML2760, is being maintained in original condition at Upton Park garage and is still made up of its original body and sub-frames.

The RML was also the ultimate in terms of the bus weight per passenger which, at a mere 240 lbs (compared to the standard RM's 257 lbs), is lighter than most modern buses and endowed it with excellent fuel consumption.

She'll have a balance bike as soon as she's able to ride it Peter but firstly I'll be getting her a running buggy so she can join me at parkrun on a Saturday morning... At every parkrun there's always a race to see who can push a buggy around the 5K course as fast as possible... The youngsters riding the buggy absolutely love it - usually :-D

There is a little girl passes my house frequently, with her brother an sister, on their way to school and back.
She started riding a balance bike. Was very unsure at first but within a few days became quite proficient. Now she is very confident on it and zooms all over the place, but is very good at watching out for traffic and other road and footpath users.
She can barely be three years old.
