I was in the pub on Monday (I play for a pool team) when a couple of guys came in to celebrate. The landlord asked what they were celebrating. They replied that they had completed a 100 piece jigsaw puzzle in the record time of four hours. The landlord asked why they though it was a record time?
Spoiler: show
They replied that it said "3 - 5 years" on the box!

I was in Southampton yesterday. Coincidentally so were four cruise liners and a container vessel. I also have (from a few days ago) a photo of a military helicopter flying over Reading, and a couple of a butterfly on a leaf (no, NOT the car!).

James, your butterfly pictures are in fact a Tiger Moth which seem to be on the increase in SE England. :)

Fish and three penn'orth at the bottom of our street = ninepence!
Mid 1950s. £8 last week. Not the same chippy though.

Our excellent chippy here in the village is struggling, the owner tells me he's going to have to cut down his opening hours and close some days because the fish prices and the energy prices are crippling the business. :(
