I remember a magpie as a score in target shooting. :)

The Newcastle footballists are called The Magpies.
I had a Renault 11 that had belonged to one of them.
His sister lived in the next street to me.

I use the Zen method of flower arranging.

Bung them in a jam jar and call it done.

Time to reminisce, recovered from the depths of the FCF AA Box Challenge thread, which still has one of the 19 outstanding still in place by the roadside, on Jersey yet to be claimed.

So thanks to Red Dwarfers and Eifion who 5 years ago joined in and took their cars on a drive, and stopped off here in Nantyffin nr Crickhowell Brecknockshire. Another bonus from our "Today's County in the Spotlight" thread which this very day gives Brecknockshire its moment in the spotlight. Pop across and join in if you can.

Reading the AA thread again and a Post from Davie who contributed a fair few of the north of Scotland Boxes, including some with Chris (White Exec.) on their North Coast 500 tour. What Davie said was interesting.
daviemck2006 wrote: 24 Nov 2019, 01:59 I've just read through this thread again. The thing that amazes me personally is how I used to go for aimless runs in first the activa and then in gabby. For some reason I havent done that for ages. I wonder if it is due to me having a thoroughly boring car in the Leon dsg? I mean it's a good car, 100% reliable and dependable but just doesnt say get in to me and drive for fun. Nor does the c1, it's not comfortable enough for me doing long journeys, brilliant for the stop start nature of my work though. I think I need to go car shopping, a xantia v6 would suffice lol
Long live the "aimless runs" definitely part of the pleasure of motoring :-D

German military truck with Romanian dealer / manufacturer plates (for some reason) stopped yesterday to get some diesel and Adblue. Talked to the driver for a bit, it seems it has a 14 liter V8 diesel making 700 hp. The trailer was too big for the small petrol station. I have unfortunately not seen the trailer.

That truck is another one of VW's lumps, they own both Man and Scania now.
