Re: Picture(s) of the day....
This might be picture of the day in many places today.
Bang bang bang down my roof at 6.30 this morning, I thought oh Sh**** that's the tv aerial but it's not mine it's next doors.

Mine is pointing fairly high, receiving from Elon perhaps.
Been like that for weeks, maybe more. Perhaps I should see if the TV works.

Probably from Arwen or Malik, so far Dudley and Eunice haven't been as bad here.

To (not very accurately) answer your question - I'd expect very roughly fifty minutes to an hour's fairly constant use out of a tank of fuel on one of my chainsaws, but much depends on a number of variables.

Thanks, looks like a lot of work how they were sliced up like my breakfast banana for my porridge.
Maybe there is some sort of woodsman's method in leaving the "rounds" lying around on the wood floor. Might have expected them being trailered away and stacked.
My only other shutter click of the wood, might as well have its moment, plenty rings on the trunk haven't counted them but at least 70 I would have thought.

Ah yes, there might be a very good technical reason why they've been left. The idea is that you hope someone else takes them away for firewood so you don't have to pick the damned things up. There ain't no substitute for experienceNewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 18:15 Thanks, looks like a lot of work how they were sliced up like my breakfast banana for my porridge.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Nothing particularly special...but this really highlights to me how far tiny camera technology has come in recent years. These photos were taken on a phone, totally free standing and on a somewhat breezy evening.
The night mode on this thing is ridiculous.
The fact it manages to pull in that much light yet not totally washing out the colour is just a marvel of modern technology when I think back to how badly digital cameras used to do in anything other than decent light only a few years ago.
It's downright mind boggling what it can do in deep darkness though using the whole "taking a bunch of photos then using clever computing to stitch them together" approach. It's seriously like having actual night vision.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Had to cut those spiky bushes down. Bloke trying to repair daughter's Megane, failed MOT.
He was attempting to get the headlight working, been horribly bodged previously, but had difficulty due to the spiky bushes. Hacked them down for him.
The council usually come round in October and trim them all. They are round the next street doing them and will probably be here in the morning.
I have been going to cut the lot down since August as I can't see any approaching traffic when exiting the parking area.
