Re: Picture(s) of the day....
From yesterday's bike ride... A church, an interesting lamp standard, a sundial and a blue-faced clock...
And a nice bike too
A close-up of the sundial above the church door...
The sundial was telling the right time, unlike the clock on the tower!

Interesting pics Jim and a lovely day by the looks of it
The lamp with your bike leaning against it looks completely over the top in the setting, but interesting nonetheless.

Well Jim after a challenging search, I have located that churchCitroJim wrote: 30 Jan 2021, 08:43 From yesterday's bike ride... A church, an interesting lamp standard, a sundial and a blue-faced clock...

But just for a bit of amusement see how quickly others can come up with the answer, I have borrowed your Pic and put it up on...

The lamp is a memorial to a person who is said on the plaque to have very much loved the village and the churchNewcastleFalcon wrote: 30 Jan 2021, 11:03 The lamp with your bike leaning against it looks completely over the top in the setting, but interesting nonetheless..
It's certainly an interesting one and here's a better photo of it...

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Here is an example of a not quite the photo i was looking for.
Today "the Cheviot" for a very brief period was gorgeously lit by the fading sun, in the distance and was radiant with its snow cover against a foreground of dark moorland and forest. By the time I had parked and climbed the ridge by the pylons, the light had departed its highlighting behind cloud.
So this is what I got
Second prize Regards Neil

Looks like you've had better weather than we have down here Neil... Raining all day and floods threatening Paggers again...
I got drenched on my morning run too

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Today has seen the return of blue sky while for the previous days this week is has been a constant mist and drizzle fest, in contrast to your pics of the church from the other day.CitroJim wrote: 30 Jan 2021, 18:55 Looks like you've had better weather than we have down here Neil... A florist's window in Paggers this morning
I'm about as romantic as a jar of peanut butter and have no great devotion to St. Valentine but this window display really made me smile and feel good during my run
