That sign will be in Singleton (where they film BBC's The Repair Shop), probably very near to The Gallery Tearooms :)

and of French Car interest there is a French car waiting at the level crossing gates in one of the photos from part of the line in its working days.

The code on the Bridge at Cocking is the Engineers Line Reference FCL2 described as Midhurst to Lavant with distances from the datum point of London Bridge via Redhill of 61.12 to 68.55 miles. (http://www.railwaycodes.org.uk/elrs/elrf.shtm)

The sign on the front of the train makes me think that might have been a 'Special' to commemorate the last runnings of the line. I think it might have closed to passengers due to Beeching.

On my little 11 mile walk out this afternoon I realised that I'd crossed all 3 lines that use to run into Midhurst :-D

Quite right it was from Centenary Celebrations in 1981
http://www.preservedthumpers.com/tours- ... t-100.html
On 11th July 1981 celebrations were held at Chichester to mark the century of the Chichester to Midhurst line.

The main celebrations were held at Chichester Station and DEMU 1126 ran 7 shuttles to over the remainder of the line to Brandy Hole Bridge.

I thought it had the look of a Citroen GS although I may be way off! It was 1981 I do believe.

I like a Pub Name but feel like the range of pubs named after breeds of dog are few and far between and dominated by "The Greyhound". Never yet found one called "The Labrador".

I liked the Pub Name "The Fox goes Free" on the signpost posted earlier.

It's a long time since I've been to The Fox Goes Free, but looking at their beer menu, I might have to revisit there when conditions allow :)

Seen on my run early this morning...

Starship delivery robots being made ready for their day of work ferrying all sorts of goodies around town from one of our local supermarkets...
Starships with their Starship Trooper

They look like a group of obedient dogs patiently waiting to go for a walk!

I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I seem to have rattled through the last 100 posts but I guess that's because of the Stroll thread so here is my 3600th celebratory car. Again a car I once had the pleasure of owning and this picture from the web is of an identical car to mine:
