POTD & Osprey catching Fish in slow motion..

Hell Razor5543 wrote: 27 Jun 2020, 18:40 I know this is not a picture, and not even a video I took, but I thought I would post it here anyway (if a Moderator wants to move it to a more suitable location I won't object).
I sort of think you will get away with it James....Lovely stuff. You will see the title of my reply very difficult to go off topic on POTD :-D

I was just about to return to POTD botany club with another pair of Poisonous but useful drug producing plants.

But trivial fact of the day did you know that Fuchsia was also named after Leonhart Fuchs as was the Fox Glove in the 16th Century.

My favourite so far:

"Aphonopelma johnnycashi is a species of tarantula (family Theraphosidae). It was found in 2015 near Folsom Prison in California, and named after Johnny Cash, whose song, "Folsom Prison Blues", made it famous. Mature males are generally black, and the country music singer was also known as "The Man in Black"."

There is one right outside my window, just a few feet away. Very few cherries and very underdeveloped. Pigeons have taken most of them.
Just as well as the path and entrance turn into cherry jam that the kids track into the house, it also attracts slugs.

As its turned a bit chilly today I thought I would post this. We had a rayburn for about 40 years but have now replaced it with an OF boiler an the grounds of efficiency.

Lovely to come in and lean against it on a cold day - the cat misses it too.

I can't remember :rofl2:

Actually, yes you can. It's a bit 'floral' for me, but very nice nonetheless. I do like a lot of what Adnam's produce :)
I have an Adnam's 'Both Barrels' waiting in the wings, along with a Schneider Aventinus, Samichlaus Classic, and Aventinus Eisbock for anything resembling a self declared 'special occasion' :-D

Yes but they are struggling this year. It is the self-isolation syndrome.
Usually cover the fence.

These appeared a couple of years ago, self seeded from somewhere, following loads of yellow poppies.

More round the front but blown to bits by the wind today.

These have sprung up this year too.

Its a while since "gate" day on POTD so here is another 5 bar one.

Treated to a very close view of one of these little fellows, absolutely gorgeous bird a Stone Chat, a Nissan Leaf makes a very good bird hide :-D

The view on a decent day is what I describe as my Famous Five View. In the distance on a clear day you see the moors and the landscape sweeping down to the coast and a little triangle of blue sea. Its what I imagined when I read Five go off to Camp! The day for the photo of course was one of those brooding sky days where the last thing you would fancy doing was setting a tent up and camping on the moors!

I missed my 2800th post celebratory car. So better late than never here are a couple of nice pictures of my only car I have ever had a personal plate on, my Mitsubishi Shogun which I converted to run on veggie oil and travelled all over Britain at an equivalent 70mpg!!:
