I missed the 2300 now, I really must get to grips with myself!! For my celebratory picture it has to be a car I proudly owned in the 80s. It was a Rover 2300S until I blew the headgasket on the M1 on the way home from ICI Wilton one Friday night in 1988!! I replaced the engine with a scrapyard 2600 version on the Saturday, sorted the ancilliarys on the Sunday and drove back to Wilton on the monday morning with noticeably more Umph!!

No sir, the site I worked on just outside Middlesborough on Redcar side was called ICI Wilton. I have copies of the system commissioning report and the end user guide in front of me. This was a £1.6 million project and the main control centre was at Wilton. The site name is mentioned many times throughout both documents. I'll attach a photo of page 2 from the report where you can see the name three times in the first eight lines. All that aside I know where I worked for 3 years!
ICI Witton was the plant in North Birmingham operated by ICI Metals Division.

ICI had a big factory at Witton :) formerly known as Kynochs, they made explosives.

Thanks Chris, that's brought back some memories of that chaotic weekend when I changed the lump for a 2600. I can't remember exactly what else had to be changed but I know I had to swap out a couple of other parts to get it working properly the following weekend, maybe the fuel pump and filter?

There were loads of Whitby people worked at Wilton, Seal Sands and Dormanstown. Also loads of the Teesside workers would descend on Whitby at weekends, this character among them.

He was an accountant at ICI Wilton, suit & tie during the week, beatnik uniform over the weekend - he is uncharacteristically smart here, probably ordered to cut his hair and burn his rags.

No idea what happened to the colours, just discovered this a couple of days ago while looking for something else, as usual.

First meeting with my mate Bob after the lockdown, we had to take our own beer of course and maintain distancing but it was great to see him today:

What happened to it?
Had to reduce it a lot for the forum to accept it.
