Not in the model of Durham/York Minster pointy "spire" and pretty tall I did think Salisbury when I first saw it, but I'll enjoy a dig around...

Salisbury Cathedral.

I have seen it several times, but (as I will have been driving for work reasons) I have never got to LOOK at it!

Indeed he was Neil, but it has changed quite a bit since then. We had a wonderful Christmas there three years ago in the hotel from which the picture was taken. Christmas Eve Midnight Mass was a real experience as was the hot toddy on our return to the hotel!! Well done. Winchester is similar Steve but not quite so tall if my memory serves me correctly, I havn't been there for 15 years! :)

I'll take that back!! :-D Just had a quick look and the only similarity between Winchester and Salisbury is that they are cathedrals!! :-D I must have been thinking of Chichester instead of Winchester as I went to both, as well as Wells and Salisbury, on a church tour just after the millenium. :)

PS I should add that the tour was for the benefit of the lady I was seeing at the time as she was into churches - maybe why we're not together now!! :-D

I saw on the video that it was very squat in comparison.

Chichester has a very similar spire to Salisbury but the detail of the "battlements" at the bottom of the pointy bit were different so I went back to my first choice. Many years ago we did stay in a very nice B&B in Salisbury which had a large teraced lawn going down to the river and an unrestricted view over to the cathedral.

If you're into cathedrals this might be for you.

That sounds like the same place we stayed at but may be different. Ours is now called The Legacy Rose and Crown but I don't remember it being a Legacy hotel when we stayed there. I do remember my 2.2 HDi Exclusive Estate attracting the attention of a couple of Citroen devotees on Xmas morning when I popped out to collect a hidden present from the boot! :-D
