another couple of hundred posts and you'll be on the first rung of the citrojim coloured belts for 1000 posts.
Hit 10,000 and you'll be a black belt!

Definitely Neil... Consider yourself an orange belt =D>

That tallies nicely with karate grading :D Never knew that about an orange...

So.. Blue for 1000 Posts, red for 2000 Posts, orange for 3000, yellow for 4000, green for 5000, purple for 6000, Purple and white for 7000, brown for 8000, brown and red for 9000 and for 10,000 black (Shodan) !!!

That makes me a Sandan...

Anyone been to Forvie?

Martyn Gorman has, and has graced Geograph with some of his excellent images of natural art from the shifting sands of the dune system there. Like this

I had to meet my son and daughter-in-law for lunch today and I was a bit early so I popped into the secondhand shop next to the pub to waste ten minutes. I wandered around, as you do, being enthralled, amazed, shocked and amused in roughly equal measure when I came to the bookcase at the back with the obligatory pile of magazines on the bottom shelf. I had a rummage and lo and behold:

Well I dont hand these out like confetti but that is one tremendous find, and it confirms my own memory of Barry Cade's Garage Casebook a superb subtitle to his regular Trade Tricks Column!

Now MIck, I hope you explained in full and glorious detail your find to your son and daughter-in-law in the pub, it always helps to spread our, or should I say my, trivial geekery to the more general population of normal people! It can be infectious :-D

Unaccustomed as I am to public posting, it falls upon me to convey my immense gratitude and I humbly accept this supreme award in the spirit in which it is presented!! Thanks mate!! :-D :-D :-D

I did indeed regale them with the entire quest with tales of muddy boot sales, chilly auto jumbles and multiple rummages through mountains of magazines in most of Hertfordshire's secondh, sorry, pre used and charity shops but I had to change the subject as their eyes glazed over and the blood was visibly draining from their temples! :-D

Another loose end bites the dust :drink: :drink: :drink:

I will also have a look through the magazine for other interesting items to post up, there is, spookily, an article on the TR7 would you believe!! :)

Never did that job on my mini. Did a clutch though and still have the 150mm spanner required.

Dont think I have greased my nipples since the Mini went the journey, there were plenty of them as this lubrication chart testifies. Apparently you can add grease nipples to current sealed ball joints if you can be bothered. King of the grease nipple was of course Oscar Zerk!

Bought a grease gun to do my daughter's Mini.
Went to do it and she had sold it :(

I had a 59 Mini with sliding windows, starter button on the floor and oil consumption to rival the fuel consumption. I used to drive everywhere with a mild blue haze behind me! :-D But I can honestly say I didn't grease its nipples at all, I didn't even own a grease gun then :-D I did only have it for 9 months or so but I must have done 8000 miles without any maintenance except of course the running oil change :-D

We used to fix that worn ball problem by heating the arm cherry red with the oxy acetylene and bending it a little to make up for the wear, no dismantling needed. :)
