Sometimes small can be beautiful.............

Mooching around Matthewsons this was absolutely gorgeous and for a moped is probably going to fetch over £4,000 when it goes under the hammer on Saturday

Getting up to date with this Thread, seems I was about 20 pages ‘out of date’

That’s almost the identical mileage to mine and identical appearance too, thanks Neil & Chris, but mine’s in miles, rather than Km’s. I had that most rare of experiences with it recently, a fix which was far easier than I'd expected, involving a replacement Window Mech. I'd been there before and struggled, but am at a loss as to why, it was a sinch!

Have you seen these little lovelys Neil? Photographed on HCVS (Historic Commerical Vehicle Society) events. Will sort out a link to a folder with lots of these if of interest.

Talking of Trucks, my current read is Guy Martin’s biog, he’s from a Trucking Background and it’s a damn good book.

305 Estate was one of the winners at Festival of the Unexceptional. I was surprised to realise that it appears to be slightly bigger inside than my 405 Est and is apparently very comfortable. Hope it gets put to plenty of good use. There was a different one at Peugeot Sport at Prescott too. Peugeot themselves are offering some spares via 'Peugeot Classic' by the way https://www.museepeugeot.com/en/aventur ... parts.html

...but if that fails, what are you going to do for rubber stuff, eg Suspension & Steering Bushes when required? Any interesting links?

I recall helping a mate to list his Picasso a few years ago, a certain High Profile Car Buying Website offered him £50 for it, with a £55 Admin Fee, so he’d’ve been a fiver down! He later sold it privately for 350notes

Thanks for that Neil, I’d heard that this existed, but had only ever seen the better known ‘Outspan Orange’.

Yes I lap that sort of thing up, photographs, and a bit of artwork. Two of the best transport artists are Alan Spillett responsible for the artwork in this book (deposited in the Pickled Egg Library) and Mike Jefferies who has this gallery here

Like this one. On the shelves of Barter books, and picked out for me because I like a bit of art the classics...(yes...paintings and drawings of old vehicles).

Never heard of this artist before, but the cover and the first illustration instantly appealed, and I know I will enjoy the whole book full of superb roadscapes and classic lorries.

The Illustrations are the work of Alan Spillett.

How about the innards of a Mobility Scooter.........Its a leccy motor, 8NM of torque so its going to take a while from 0-60, and that wheel/tyre looks small.

I would probably be mooching round this and glancing over to their more modern stuff and thinking wonder when they "lost it".

Nice display though, a real exploded diagram in 3D

On the money with both of those Neil. The scooter was my partner's only transport while awaiting her replacement hip and I registered and insured it as the rules dictated for use on the road. So it has a logbook and lights etc but it amazes me how many non registered and uninsured ones there are out there. Time the authorities got a grip on that - imagine if one pulled out in front of you and you stuffed your Lambo into a wall to discover they weren't insured? :(

As for the exploded Mercedes F1 car it really is worth a visit and a good study if you are into F1, for those that don't know you can find it at Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands. :-D

The Auction Firm "Historics" have regular classic Auctions at Brooklands too.
I get the impression that the Mercedes Benz world has a few hands on attractions, and "driving experiences too" albeit some at at extra cost. I do think museums have to do a bit more than just have well polished specimens roped off looking pristine. With tech being what it is these days you could easily virtual reality a decent "driving experience" for any and all of the exhibits displayed, right down to crunching gears and operating brakes which fail to slow down the "car".
