That, and the friendly attitude of the members. Even when we have heated discussions they do not get blown up out of all proportions. Re: Picture(s) of the day
....A series of pictures with a common link, leading to a reasonable non-too obscure link with this very day. Interesting portfolio but whose prorfolio is it?
So we have the 1959 Bush TR82 transistor portable

The Raleigh Chopper
The BSA Rocket 3
The Plaxton Panorama Elite
Reliant Scimitar GTE
The Bond Bug
Luke Skywalker's X34 Landspeeder

Well, I believe that the Land Speeder has mirrored sides, so as to hide the fact that it runs on wheels; wheels that are attached to the chassis (and so on) from a Bond Bug.

You're spot on there James, but here's another product from the Hertfordshire stable which may help with the linkHell Razor5543 wrote:Well, I believe that the Land Speeder has mirrored sides, so as to hide the fact that it runs on wheels; wheels that are attached to the chassis (and so on) from a Bond Bug.

Re: Picture(s) of the day
Today's random link was Ogle Design founded in 1954 by David Ogle, orgininally of Letchworth Hertfordshire, who had a hand in all of the items in the pictures including Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder for George Lucas.
They breifly also produced the SX1000 car, based on the Mini, and looking very much like an ahead of its time Allegro Coupe

I go past those quite frequently... They're not far from my home...
You just don't appreciate how big they are in a picture... They really are bloody ginormous!

Random link time....
I love the artwork/imagery of old railway and travel posters/postcards so following our little holiday up at Nairn, I searched for "Nairn travel Posters" in google, and clicked on the images tab to see what I had caught.
There is an interesting pioneering story behind it about the Nairn Brothers from New Zealand, and the Transport Company they set up in the middle-east initially using a Lancia, Buick and Oldsmobile then A V8 Cadillac Convertible as a Taxi and Postal Service over the desert from Bahgdad to Beirut. They moved on then to these iconic vehicles
