It's got a nice clock, and is rather an impressive building!

I'd have a liked to go on a roof tour, but 12 years and over only, so we will have to wait till the boys are a bit older, and have a trip back!

genuine mix of red and yellow sandstone from different quarries.

I've added some music up recorded in the Cathedral at the Pickled Egg, Mumford and Sons performed there.

CitroJim wrote: 14 Oct 2017, 16:38 but for me the best one was a Ferguson TE20 tractor... I followed it for a bit, albeit slowly, as it was toddling along at no more then 15mph. It was in gorgeous condition, obviously loved and cherished, and the greatest thing for me was that it was running on TVO (or rather the nearest you can get to it these days). The exhaust smelt simply wonderful and that smell just took me right back to my childhood when the smell of TVO exhaust was commonplace. It took me to some very happy memories too ;)

Your observation from the Classics spotting thread Jim....came across this from my "gentle Irish Humour" phase on you tube. Richie Kavanagh has quite a few offerings to gently amuse. Not sure if its a TE20, but fits in nicely with other observations on the relative size of modern vehicles compared to those in the not so distant past!

Definitely a TE20 or 21 Neil and yes, it's a very stark illustration!

Just like the size of my Saxo and 207 is a stark illustration of how small cars have bloated

I'd love to see a Ford Anglia and a Ford Focus in a similar picture to the two tractors above to show how the average family saloon has ballooned and become morbidly obese over the last 50 years ;)

Richie Kavanagh's gentle little song on the Anglia Deluxe and if you want to join in here's the chorus!

Chorus...
Was there anything nicer than an Anglia Deluxe?
Stylish design and such lovely good looks.
A grand chromey stripe from the front to the back
and up top was a sturdy roof rack....

Ever heard of Auction Team Breker?

http://www.breker.com/english/index.htm

This German Auction House featured on the radio today, as it is selling an Apple-Lisa-1 computer from 1983.

Cost a staggering £14,000 at the time...but you did get a mouse and a 5mb hard drive and 1mb RAM!

An interesting browse as they have sold in the past things such as these

Enigma M4 (1942)

Thought you might have lked an old enigma machine as an objet d'art Jim, bit pricier though at 90 odd Grand!

They do do model loco's too

New Month Day-New Picture(s) Needed Please!

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Let us not let the first day of the month pass without a POTD.
Let us start a tradition of first day of the month POTD posting
Let us get out with our Cameras, our Phones and our Dash Cams on this day and record the interesting and the boring! the sharp and the out of focus!
Let us compile a and publish a calendar of the best of POTD first day posts
Let us call it the FCF Calendar
Let us print it out on our own printers

Yes getting a bit carried away there...

Just join in!
That sums it up really

Regards Neil

Remember it will be dark quite soon, it would be a shame if the November first day POTD was one of a black cat in a coal cellar!
