 That's true Gibbo :D

No denying we lost something very precious on the 15th February 1971 :( All those old sayings now fast becoming meaningless to the youngsters... The ability to stop on a sixpence, steering that feels like it's full of threepenny bits and things being as bent as 9 bob notes...

Makes me tick like a ten-bob watch

I remember when Christmas Puddings were PROPER Christmas Puddings. Now you cannot get them with the proper little throat blockers!

It wasn't always a perfect world, Jim. I believe the young chap depicted on the cover of Practical Wireless was soon served with an ASBO and banned from that establishment for playing his modern beat music so loud it annoyed all the other customers. :-D

Well I just don't know where to start
His workbench is just far too cluttered - it's an accident waiting to happen in that state. I bet none of his power tools are connected to an RCD. The piece of wood he's cutting isn't clamped down in any way - he hasn't even made an attempt to secure it properly. There's not a single piece of PPE in sight - no gloves, no eye protection, no hearing protection, no dust suppression. I bet he hasn't even done a risk assessment or method statement. As for the lady in the background - I'm not sure that's the correct attire for serious construction and maintenance work in the home. I bet she hasn't even got steel toe-capped boots on. How on earth did these people make old bones ?

Or this one!

What can I say ? Someone needs to have a word with their diversity officer. I'm not sure that's representative of the average household. The mother and child I can understand, but who has a waxwork model of a man as a father figure in their living room ? They must have been strange times :-D

Bobins, all your comments above made me giggle :D

But there was a time when we all used to work like that! I did, certainly... I learned the hard way when I did something and it hurt or spilt blood...

I've made reasonably old bones on it ;)

Love the great artwork on those old magazines, and model kits.

Roy Cross did do the odd car as well, lovely vibrant colour!

Nice bridges, but not a great cycle race. I mean, CitroJim wasn't invited to participate!

I was down at the other end of the island at the Haynes Motor Museum ;)

The bridge is awesome 8-) Love it! Just like a mini-Millau :)

I will be in action on two wheels next Sunday and may also try to spectate the ToB as it passes fairly close to me on Stage 7 :)
