I dreamed of owning aa MOT station like that one, In Egypt our REME workshop was a former railway workshop with long working pits that would have been ideal, the only problem was the pits were unguarded so idiots occasionally fell in.

I remember exploring the old abandonned REME workshop in the tunnels in Gibraltar. One of our party fell through the rotten boards covering the pit ! #-o

Despite the prevailing temperature, she really did want one  We advised it really was not a good plan so she settled on a little cream cake!

Spoilsports!!!! I'd have said it was a great plan, cool down the inside to closer match the outside and the difference is reduced so you don't feel so cold!! Opposite of the good old have a cup of tea to cool down - warms up the inside so the air feels cooler and hence so do you!! :-D

Ahh, maybe she's wiser than we realise ;) I can vouch for a nice hot cuppa being cooling on a hot day :)

By extension of that we were experiencing some very hot weather, 35~38°C daytime typical.
A workmate and I were in Gothenburg and went into a Roman baths. (Sauna/Bastu essentially) and had several rounds of heat and cold - the plunge bath was a shock at 4°C.
Came out and felt fresh and cool for several days after.
