Back together again. Belt on with about 45deg twist. Routed to the Haynes SOHC with aircon. Made sure floating sprocket on Crank was centred with 2 pins.
Started up fine. Noisy! It is the bottom pully I think. The belt is undulating badly, so something is eccentric. Would poor timing cause belt to jump up and down? I only put a new one on as I was going in there . The old one was ok.

Tomorrow I will put the old one back on. See how that goes and will update.

Old Crank pulley back on............Donk is back in business
New crank pulley was cheapo. It could be manufacturing fault or more likely the wrong one for car. Same dimensions but there are so many other factors like weight etc. I knew there was nothing wrong with original pulley, so I thought I could not justify a £100 item.
I will get back to supplier.

New belt Jim. The way I worded in last post ,it looked like I was putting old belt back on.........it was old crank pulley back on I meant.
The Donk knew better Davie..........it was back on to Blackpool beach for it, if there was any more nonsense!
