shame the independent hasn't got a loan car this would push him to get on with it because he would need the loan car back for other customers. Did you think to ask if he has a loan car until the job is done?
This is partly why I got a 2cv it has been a real life saver this year. £80 fully comp insurance.
It has been more and more difficult to book at independents mainly because over the recession they started to work on all makes of cars to make ends meet.
They certainly are, there's only a handful round here that don't charge by the hour, there's one citroen specialist who charges in the region of £45-£50 per hour, I did use him in the early days when there was no per hour rate, then found another citroen specialist literally down the road and he's been superb at fitting me in almost same day and he's negotiable, but he's sadly away. I contacted a Blackburn specialist and he unfortunately didn't have the specialist tool for the pipe repair, Dave ashworth in blackpool can do the job but not ill end of week and he also reminded me of Malcolm at Savoy he can most likely sort it out on Thursday and supply a courtesy car (hope its an XM) but I've got to travel 25 miles to get to him or 15 miles for dave ashworth who's quoted £65 +vat.
I also visited the citroen stealership and they had no idea when I showed them the pic of the leaking pipe even the photo's that Rory kindly posted but they did look at it straight away on the ramps without me booking it in. So I'm swaying towards Malcolm as he's worked on the car once before, it's the painful journey of risking driving there I could cause more problems or damage something else, literally after topping up to correct level the light starts flickering after 5 minutes then on constantly after a further 10 mintues, once the cars in motion say on a motorway would there be less leakage as the road surface is smoother and there's less movement of the steering wheel or am I talking a load of blocks (I'm clinging on to this car).
Would breakdown recovery take the car all the way to Hapton even though there is a local specialist that can do the work in home town but not straight away?
