Re: Classic car summer season-what have you spotted?
Yesterday spotted an immaculate J plate Saab 900 Turbo twice. Got a cheery wave from the driver both times (I was in my 900 at the time as well). Lovely looking car, especially in the dark silver colour of that one.

A yellow Volvo and a P6 in the gorgeous Avocado (yes, I really love it!!) is heaven for me...
I still have a hankering for a V8 P6...With a vinyl roof and the spare wheel on the boot. An Avocado one would be perfect!

SAAB 900 gets an official 10 points as it does make the 120 in I-Spy Classic Cars, double that up to 20 for the end of season offer. Extra points would have been on offer for a beryl green oneZelandeth wrote:Yesterday spotted an immaculate J plate Saab 900 Turbo twice. Found this link which shows examples of the good old Rover P6 in all its colours. From almond, apricot and avacado, through paprika and saffron, to spanish olive, turmeric and tobacco leaf. I wouldn't say no to any of them.CitroJim wrote:A yellow Volvo and a P6 in the gorgeous Avocado (yes, I really love it!!) is heaven for me...

Paprika is striking, while Spanish Olive is more subtle

That is identical -colour and everything - to my youngest daughter's first SAAB.
Only difference is the one pictured is shiny

Hers was an Aero SE and went like the clappers. So did the petrol

Re: Classic car summer season-what have you spotted?
Very nice. Nearly bought a 2-door one in that colour a few years back but the seller was asking too much for it and wouldn't budge. I know what you mean about the rate at which they drink fuel...that's the one thing I wish I could change about mine! ...not that I do enough miles these days for it to matter really.
Spots today were an early Morris Minor (not sure exactly how early - but early enough to be still using the sidevalve engine), followed a few minutes later by a British racing green chrome bumper MGB GT.

Thats very nearly a Spanish OliveVertVega wrote:

Extra points for that standard 10 doubled to 20, and redoubled to 40 for the colour.
Maybe its a sign of age but I am drawn to the Rover P6 version of beige.....but its not ordinary beige......its "Tobacco Leaf" and its strangely addictive...

So, to the end of September, as well as the end of season double points, a further triple points is on offer for the spotting and pictoral evidence of an interesting beige vehicle, and a genuine "Tobacco leaf" well....thats going to be a 999 from me
Yes the Beige Bonus has arrived

A blue T3 "ute" just like the one in Wikipedia but different plates, yesterday's spot. And an XJ-S in good fettle.
VV, that Volvo is a cracker. I'm waiting to see a 262C without a V8 in it.
