I fear the days are numbered for this particular car :( I see it now has a Council notice on the windscreen warning it will soon be removed and disposed of...

A sad end, possibly... And no, I'm not rescuing it... If I was going to rescue any car it would have been that blue diesel AX on eBay recently...

EDIT: It must be mobile as it's moved since I took the first photo according to the position of the drain grating...

I wonder why the council are bothered about that Jim, it's not blocking anything and it's not an unsightly wreck, too much big brother in your local council I think.

I think someone from the council must be an avid reader of this thread and Jim provided them with easy pickings :rofl2:

It's on SORN and the MoT Expired on the 24th March so, being on a public road DVLA could clamp it and remove it if they wanted...

Knowing the area, I guess the neighbours got together and complained... But yes Eric, you are right - where and how it's parked it's in the way of precisely nothing and is far from being an eyesore...

I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days...

To add to P4 Day, this 1955 example of the Rover 90 Incarnation hasn't moved for some time, but has been well exposed to the elements for a number of years while not disintegrating yet into a rusty wreck, it could well be nice comfortable home for the local rodents.

The front end and the emblem/badge and grill has a certain presence and the starting handle slot always a joy.

Back in Birmingham in around 1959 I fitted a new engine in one of those, a 75 though not a 90, I was very surprised when the engine arrived from Rover that unlike most replacement engines it wasn't 'bare', it came with all the ancillaries fitted even the distributer and plug leads and timed spot on.
Also surprising was that although it looks pretty tight in there it dropped straight in, no twisting and turning or struggling to line it up.

For the record a few days later granted but another Morris Minor Convertible in white with a red rag top spot today in Northumberland. It was an A reg, but forgot the camera, and no chance for a stop and chat as they were just moving off.

Two classics on the drive

One has a deserved reputation for longevity and reliability the other is a VW Beetle.

Like the Soggy Moggie Minor, I've never quite got the appeal of the VW. The only good ones were those converted into orange beach buggies in the 70s 8-)

The VW Beetle, designed in the early 1930s Jim, modified every six weeks until the 1990s..........and they never got it right.
