I was somewhat surprised that his had a flat four in it - at the time I thought only Beetles had them.
Then bought a GS - knowing nothing at all about them - to discover that I had now a flat four too.

had two GSA's - they were good for the size of their engines and the suspension was a puzzle to begin with but I persevered and enjoyed both of them

A lot of it was a puzzle - from the start, taking it home over the Tyne bridge with the snow coming in sideways and cluelessly trying to get the blower working.
Deadly simple and logical once you knew how but in traffic and a snowstorm a bit of a problem.
Five year old daughter with me - she had charmed the seller admirably.

Suspension of course - never seen anything like it.
Brakes - frightening at first, after driving Hillman Imps with barely any brakes to speak of.

Classic Car of the Day...wonder if the 4 pipes poking out the rear are a standard item for that year and model? I would guess not.

I think they may well have been, I just looked through a lot of 1972 V12 pics and most of them had those exhausts:

I've shoved a brace of MG's up on POTD as a bit of promotion for the thread. New and old participants always welcome. Here's the one with the bulge in the bonnet....so its over to autotrader and the DVLA to see what lies underneath. Different sort of light clusters at the rear too, and a double tailpipe. Very nicely turned out as was the one next to it.

I spotted a Lamborghini Countach this weekend, on the A33 between Reading and Basingstoke. No pictures, but the reg was E3ULL. Going by the width of the rear wheels (and the various pictures on line) I am certain it is a real Lamborghini, and not a kit car;
