The odd classic is out and about now as evidenced by the lovely iris blue MGB roadster posted here
viewtopic.php?p=648528#p648528

and here's another. Its a hot day today in Northumberland and not so much new car smell, but that old car smell was in the air as I photographed this.

and for the simplest ever whatthisthen? what is it (precisely if you don't mind)
whatsthisthen? (precisely)
whatsthisthen? (precisely)

The first bit is right but the precision not quite there on the number.

Not sure how the badging evolved but I expected the number on the badge but it isnt of course!

I had a dig around wiki and suchlike for info on the model numbering and it seems to have been an arbitrary choice of the 75 and then other models from the 60 to the 110 fitted around that during the life of the P4. Each model number had its own significance but I cannot find what actually defined the numbers. I found this site the most interesting:

I was certain it was a 110 or 95 and plumped for the wrong one. Once you had corrected that I simply entered P4 95 into DDG and scrolled through the image results until I found the matching registration letters. Fortunately found a nice image of it.!! :-D

Do you want to have a little peek at what Pinin Farina did to the P4?

the blurb and a detail is here
http://www.roverp4.com/farina.htm

and one of the examples of what was produced is this....there were others as the article reveals

A beautiful looking car that, however if you had done one of your cropping jobs I could easily have thought it was a Karmann Ghia or even an early Morris!!: :-D
