I was considering taking the Skoda down to the Festival of the Unexceptional, however turned out it was a year too new.
...aaaand it's head gasket finally decided that it had had enough a little while back so is currently resting under its cover while I try to find time to sort it.

Zel your Skoda Estelle 120 must be one of the rarest vehicles in the UK according to "Howmanyleft"
I think at least 40 points would be in order for an appropriate picture
This is a Skoda Super Estelle 120 LSE 4-Door Saloon according to autotrader vehicle check

Regards Neil

The Renault Dauphine makes the 120 in I-Spy Classic Cars and 35 Pointsvan ordinaire wrote:pretty sure there was a Daphine - & a Gordini at that - in the car park at the Bristol Classic Car Show AND met a man at the "Festival of the Unexceptional" with a Caravelle (although he hadn't brought it)
from I-Spy Classic Cars
Like Volkswagen, Renault once favoured rear mounted engines. This neat little saloon was popular across Europe, with over 2M sold. In Britain, Dauphines were used as the country's first mini-cabs, despite not being very roomy inside. With an 845cc engine, performance is modest, at 70mph flat out

I do like the caravelle and its stablemate the floride, particularly nice for pootling around the Cote D'Azur comme ca

There's a Renault Floride for sale in Liverpool for £8,000. Shiny white cars are ok, but I think it needs a decent bright paint job for me like the yellow of Thierry Dubois' artwork above.

So having "Triumphed" at fitting a big block the owner did the bodywork with his eyes shut!

I love those pictures Neil, so atmospheric

Definitely agree the Floride looks lovey in yellow and white is not it's best colour...
Spotted a lovely AC Cobra today whilst out on my bike... Sounded lovely too... Not the usual Rover V8 power that was for sure...

The AC/Shelby Cobra is in the 120 in I-Spy Classic Cars, and scores 40 points to boot!CitroJim wrote: Spotted a lovely AC Cobra today whilst out on my bike... Sounded lovely too... Not the usual Rover V8 power that was for sure...
You can have 41 points if it was yellow JimFrom I-Sppy Classic Cars
Created in California by Texan racing driver Carroll Shelby, the gorgeous cobra is a hybrid. Britain's AC body/chassis powered by America's Ford V8 engine. This combination of light weight and plentiful horsepower produces lightning acceleration-enough to have regularly beaten Ferraris on the race track.

Re: Classic car summer season-what have you spotted?
Another 10 points in the bag today, almost too embarrased to collect them for this:-

Awful.....so here's an antidote of something a bit more beautiful from our day out today.
At a working quarry just off the A69 at Brampton, there are 2 breeding pairs of the European Bee-eater, and the RSPB have set up a 24/7 watch but also have facilitated viewing of the birds by the public. Token donation of £5 for the car park, but a very rare event for these beautiful mediterranean birds to breed in Britain let alone this far North.

No, sadly Neil, the Cobra was silver
That Morris 1000 is absolutely hideous

Early Vauxhall VX220 in bright yellow this evening...got to be worth something I guess...I wouldn't mind owning one anyway...even if I would probably always be thinking of my much missed Cappuccino.

Never seen one of those Zel, will have to consult the "book" for a comparible

Had quite a good spotting day today with pics, for later. A continental Sunbeam badged "Imp" on its summer holidays to Barnard Castle probably the most unusual spot.
