Are you kidding James? 42.8 on an exceptionally good day where I am in Tom Jones' Country in my X7!
I'm itching to go on a Route 66 manoeuvre to get it past 45!
Yes, that is what you think, but it is actually 6.14MPG!!!

Counter 1 update to the new high of 67.1mpg shortly after.
Found a near-local fuel station that does discount days and refilled for under £1.30/L
Monitored another regen and kept it in 4th at 50/60mph for the duration at which point counter 2 updated again
Insurance renewal time again. Paid £245+ last year, get renewal asking for £275+ so off to the comparison sites yet again and surprise, surprise, my insurers quote me cheaper, not just cheaper than the renewal but cheaper than last year @£235.
Yes, never get complacent with your existing insurer, they’ll often lure and hook you with a one off deal. The exception with me at present seems to be Esure who have come in lower each year!
I suspect my washer motor has passed it's use-by date.
It pulses and barely splashes the bottom of the screen. The rear works fine, still. Perhaps it's just a loose connection but I can't get access, it seems buried behind the radiator and inaccessible from underneath.
They were - yours may be different - a single pump that was reversible with a couple of flapper valves.
One direction for windscreen, the other for the rear screen.
The flapper valves would either not 'flap' as intended or be clogged with gunge.
A good clean would usually sort them out.
My nearside jets get clogged with black, somewhat organic crap.
They are said to be stupidly east to break but I have been lucky in being able to remove it and blast some hot water in reverse through it then refit. Needs doing about twice a year - other one is never a bother.
It could be either in your case.
The washer bottle might appreciate a good clean out. Meths or white vinegar- or both - may have a beneficial effect.
You might also find that there are some grit, scale or other undesirables in the tubes or the nozzles. Always worth a poke with a pin in the nozzles and try and see if that clears it - if not unclip the tubes from the nozzles and then try and see if it has any welly when activating. If the rear is working it obviously has enough power to whiz the water round to the back. Sometimes it is worth taking the tubes off and giving them a good blast out first. Crossed over with Steve's post^
On my 06 C5 Estate the washer pump is reachable from under the RH front wing with the under-shield removed, it's in front of the power steering pump but is easy enough to get at, it's a single pump with two outlets for front and rear.
I replaced mine earlier this month, had to have a second go at it last week because at some stage the rubber piping had been partially bodged with a plastic bit pushed in and it had parted company, water going onto the floor instead of the front screen.
Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new. (Albert Einstein)
Odd thing is, after holding the stalk for some 20seconds I obtained full flow again (and the motor pulsing changed to the normal strong constant sound), but a subsequent test failed and the weak flow, in time with the pusling sound returned.
ie, pipework and jets are almost certainly not blocked so I suspect the problem is at the motor end. Is it possible to clean the motor in case of contamination?
Found a youtube which shows how the pump works and could well be the answer I'm looking for.
It shows a cylindrical sliding seal (which I guess is what myglaren meant by "flap") that slides between the two ports (front or rear supply) and can swell over time, causing it to jam. This could explain the pulsing I hear when it's obstructing the front feed.

Probably easier to replace the whole thing if that's the case- they are relatively cheap things.
Was pretty much resigned to replacing it when it first failed and this video adds weight to it being the fix. Just under £30 from stealers, or £10-£15 elsewhere.
I replaced the washer pump on my C5 MK1 not so long ago. It is a bit of a ball ache (as you have to move the front right mudguard out of the way), but not too bad. I got mine from GSF. I do NOT know if this is suitable for your car, but here is the link to the one I bought from them;
