Now that I re-read my post, yeah probably :-D

However, someone on the same time-zone and availability could Teamviewer-in on his PC and do all these remotely, they are indeed pretty straight-forward for someone with some basic IT skills....you can fiddle with the VM settings, or the WinXP VM environment parameters, but these are tune-up steps and not required for the basic installation.

I just wanted to provide a step-by-step, just to try to give the OP an idea of the required effort....

Re: Lexia installation woes....

Post by RM206 »

Hi

I am having a bit of a problem with my diagbox install as well. I am running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I have successfully installed the diagbox/Lexia/PP200 software and (I think) all drivers included on the cd it came with. My problem is that I am getting a "Please connect a VCI" after choosing my vehicle model (Peugeot 206). When I plug the interface into one of the USB ports the light flashes normally (3 flashes etc) but I get no sound nor does anything appear in my device manger, it is as if the computer is not recognizing the box... Is this because of windows 7 64bit or might it be something else ?

Big thanks in advance for any replys !!!

when asked, try switching USB ports. I also boot the PC with the unit in the usb port.

More like its clashing with 64bit Windows....my Windows7 disks came with both 32 and 64 bit disks....I installed 32bit on the LapTop and 64bit on the main box.

As Lexia is very old software (16 bit) it cannot run directly within a 64 bit environment. You will need to set up a virtual machine (I cannot advise on how to do this), and then set up a 32bit O/S in the VM, and then install the Lexia software there.

Most likely...whenever I tried installing on 64bit (7 or 8), the installation failed and/or the app didn't actually work. I then decided to go straight to WinXP, and voila, everything worked flawlesly from the word "go" 8-)

Ok great. All the installations are fine, diagbox, Lexia, PP2000. It all starts up etc perfectly, it looks like the drivers don't like windows 7, the Diagbox cable isn't appearing on the computer.

Will have a bit of a fiddle and then try a virtualbox with xp.

Thanks !!!

That should be OK. Not tried it but planning to soon and my research says win 7 32bit is good for Lexia. Probably.

Still no luck... installed on 32bit windows and same error "Please connect a VCI"... Might be a faulty box :'( Very frustrating anyhow... It is defiantly the drivers I have. they will not install correctly. If anyone has the working "ACTIAPnP" drivers I would be very grateful
