Was using a good spanner, so tight the shoulder has just split/bent destroying the seal channel....its totally fecked. Still good for a JimBoy repair so I will keep it on one side if he ever feels the need to do that again :)

hi sticky ,
been a while since ive been on as to your predicament im probably suggesting something you have already tried but heat is the only thing that will seperate threadlock as its an elastomer and designed to resist oil based solvents i would suggest using an impact type socket as they're much stronger than standard and are 6 point for better grip. hope it helps buddy.

Cannot get anything other than a spanner on it mate......its the alloy that just gives way....not designed to move....ohh... and I "cooked" it for an hour in a Rayburn, the thing has fallen apart at the edges/seal channel

FYI, C is a very soft aluminium

hi sticky, can you concentrate the heat on the long part of C as it might just expand enough to release the thread on H it could be a combination of thread lock and electrolysis causing it to seize ,aluminium expands slightly faster than steel alloy so should in theory if heat is concentrated expand enough to loosen try spraying gt7 or plus gas on thread and then ignite after 2 or 3 min and keep heat on it it worked for me on a thread locked engine mount i know its a bit iffy but if it works.
he who dares wins and all that

Im presuming its off the car so your obviously using a vice if im correct in both these assumptions h is stronger than c but c allows for greater leverage as it has a greater surface area so i would be locking h in the vice and applying a deep socket on c as h is stronger than c it can be held with greater force than c i really think your main problem is spanners rather than sockets as you wont get the same pressure and leverage on the work piece.

I am using a vice as well, tried both ways. In the vice, it just turned and ripped up, then it crushed. The glue holding it is stronger than the metal can cope with.

OK, that would suggest it rhymes with duct! If you have another one to do in the future I would suggest a few temperature cycles if the metals will take it (good and hot, nice and cold using freezer spray, repeat) to see if that worries the thread-lock.

Try to reinforce C along the full length of where the threaded portion of H screws in, Evostick a few layers of paper, (or leather) round it to give it extra strength before you attempt to unscrew it. Don't use the hex head on C, clamp the reinforced bit in mole grips or a vice.
