Re: Different Spirit...... a DS3 adventure
The mileage David refers was an absolutely mind blowing 83mpg before getting stuck behind trucks and infamous roadworks, average consumption over the weekend and back home was 63mpg

Re: Different Spirit...... a DS3 adventure
It's a shame the 208bhp engine in the DS3 Racing has such a bad habit of destroying the piston on the no. 2 cylinder as one of them would really tempt me. I've had enough of these bloody turbo charged petrol engines that PSA have been buying from BMW though

Re: Different Spirit...... a DS3/DS4 adventure
My DS3 is going on Friday to be replaced by a DS4 DStyle, I've loved driving the 'black beast' and have had some great fun with it, but unfortunately I need something with 4 doors.......... and the offer I got was a really good one.

I'm not over excited Davie....... I prefer the DS3 but practicality dictates four doors............. it has a to prove so it will be interesting

Sorry Steve but that's a backward step, although I know why.

Davie, I know what you're saying........ it's a necessary evil and to be honest I have no attachment with it. Which is a good thing, I just get in and drive.......... which is great for shuttling back and to to work, then for shopping, but anything long distance wise, it's the C6.
Don't get me wrong it's a nice car, and the ride is softer than the DS3 but ......... oh I don't know.......

Re: Different Spirit...... a DS3/DS4 adventure
Your DS3 was definitely a lovely looking thing Steve, I'm surprised you got so much MPG from it mind! I had a diesel one for 3 months/6,000 miles and it averaged 54 over that time, I wasn't sparing any of the 100 horses though!
The DS4 is an interesting replacement, how are you finding it now you've lived with it for a while?
They certainly don't have quite the agility of the DS3 and I find the DS3 a more sturdy car in terms of build, but the DS4 can really be hussled along winding roads with great ease and they come brimming with spec.
I've been running a DS4 DSport 2.0HDi 160 for a while now and its one of those cars where I have to really keep an eye on the speedo on the twisty bits, else it'll corner at quite alarming speeds
It's got everything from blind spot monitoring to heated and massaging leather seats, the 19" wheels on the Dsport don't do it any favours though. I prefer 5 door cars to use everyday so I can see why you changed your DS3, I'm quite impressed with the DS4 for an allrounder.
I've just swapped for another DS3, a new fronted Elegance 1.2 110 with Nav plus Pack and the 17" Aphrodite wheels. Its a great little thing and the spec has certianly improved on the new one now, sports seats as standard, etc. I love the little 1.2 turbo engine, it has real character and pull to it.

Re: Different Spirit...... a DS3/DS4 adventure
Chris,
If I'm honest, I much prefer the DS3, I find the DS4 quite bland. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice enough car, and for a mid spec it's well appointed, I mean it's a DStyle with Nav, has massage seats....... you'll know as much as me....
I don't get anywhere near the MPG I did with the DS3, I average around 50/55MPG but it is the 1.6 e-HDi. I'll keep this for now, but I've decided I'm not buying another new car ever again. I travel to many miles to make it viable, instead I'll be looking at buying something 3 years old, fresh of a PCP.
