Had to take it to the local Citroen dealer who have diagnosed a faulty BSI.
Going to cost £535.
Thanks to anyone who tried to help me.

and how many times have you heard that on a C5 ?....that does not happen often from what I have seen....bad luck

It seems to be an expensive part :( I hope the replacement doesn't take long.

Yesterday morning I had some extra heart beats. As usual I unlocked the car with the key fob and I opened the door. Then I noticed that the headlights were ON :shock: I thought d@mn, again? Fortunately it was just a false alarm. Accidently I must have pressed the headlights button of the key fob when I took it out of my pocket =D>

New BSI fitted by dealer now car all working now.
