Now to ask for some forum help!
The one thing that doesn't work & is really annoying is the remote on the central locking. It all locks & unlocks from the key fine. The key remote LED comes on. I tried changing the batteries, I tried syncing (ignition on, press button for one second, found on XM forum, is this right?). Where do I go from here?

Re: FakeConcern's XM
I have not needed to do anything to mine other than change the batteries. But you should know that the RF plips used on the mk2 XM are not like anything used on any other Citroen. They are a rolling code remote, so send a different code every time the button is pressed, and the receiver ignores any duplicate codes received, to prevent replay attacks.
Neither the plips nor the receiver can be programmed to add new plips to a car. At one time, it was possible to order a specifically programmed plip from Citroen, at a typically customised price. Now the only options are to get a matched pit of plips and receiver from a scrapped car, or fit an aftermarket remote system.
It is possible that the plips you have (or at least the internals) has been swapped and does not match your car. It would be worth asking the previous owner if it was working.
It might be worth trying the standard trick of resoldering all the connections on the PCB, which has fixed more than one Xantia plips for me.

Re: FakeConcern's XM
Thanks for the reply, do you mean solder the pcb in the remote key?
Is the receiver in the interior lamp housing?

Yes I meant resolder the plips PCB.
The receiver is mounted under the glovebox.

Re: FakeConcern's XM
Got home from work today to find two XM things in the post, the reg doc, so I'm officially the keeper & the Haynes BOL for the XM. Unfortunately the BOL does not seem to include the V6, a bit annoying! I want to change the oil/filter ATF over the Easter holidays, I've had a search around the forum & can't find a guide to either, is there one?
