The story of that one as far as I know is that it was mainly used as a show ground runabout for the owner, clearly having not been in road use for some time. It does still exist, but it looking rather sorry for itself these days.
TPA will absolutely have to go down the strip one day just for giggles if nothing else. If we could get both of these two together though that would be hilarious.
I will need to get along to a RWYB day at some point anyhow just to say I've done it.

It's been very quiet for the most part in terms of the fleet lately. Waiting for a couple of house tasks to be sorted and paid for before I chuck money at the Trabant & source a new radiator for the Rover. Volvo goes into the garage to have the rear suspension bushes changed tomorrow. Just for variety, TPA was out and about again today.

In a bit of a change of pace she did get a bit of attention today. Just due an oil and filter change, nothing exactly groundbreaking.

I do appreciate having the separate drain for the filter housing as that allows a completely drip free change to take place despite the inverted filter.

No metal whatsoever on the magnet this time round.
Topped back up and good for another while little while. All 1.75 litres it takes to refill from empty.

Been good to get some use out of this car again today. Has been too long since she was out regularly.

I enjoy the place opposite - not one you'd notice (or even want to) unless you have an Autumn-aged child with you..

Been a while since they've had anything decent in really. They always used to have a good selection of really cheap vinyl, I'd usually come out with half a dozen records. Plus there were often bargains to be found in the electrical section. £10 DLP projector and £35 Epson V700 scanner that didn't seem to ever have been used and had all the transparency attachments still in their shrink wrap probably being the best. Sadly hasn't really been anything of interest in a year or so now, the variety of stock really having been cut back. Mostly seems to be furniture that's nearly as expensive as new in there now.CitroJim wrote: 29 Aug 2024, 05:53

Being in TPA wouldn't be as much a deterrent as you might think, you can fit far more in that cabin than you'd think!

Oh I had utterly forgotten how much of a pain moving over to a new phone is. Especially when you've had to switch manufacturers so everything doesn't just transfer automatically.
Also, Google, your launcher software on the Pixel is a complete disaster and I hate it. WHY does a solid third of the screen need to be occupied by a giant notification area a search bar I have absolutely no use for...Methinks I'll be looking at alternative launchers at the weekend.

I lost patience with Samsung back around 2013 or so when after three Samsung phones, they STILL hadn't resolved two obvious and very annoying bugs in their software stack which were well documented online which had afflicted my S2, S3 and S4 Mini. One which rendered any alarm clock functions totally unreliable; the device would immediately go back to sleep once the alarm got as far as waking the display up, so the alarm only actually sounded for a fraction of a second roughly one in ten times the alarm was used The other was a bug which caused a random reboot to occur when using cellular data, which happened so often on the S4 Mini to render it all but unusable unless you had WiFi coverage.CitroJim wrote: 31 Aug 2024, 05:32 Oh gosh Zel, you've gone all posh and up-market with a Giggle Pixel!

I actually had zero incentive to "upgrade" beyond the fact that the software on my current device was sufficiently outdated that I was starting to run into issues with a couple of things now refusing to work. Given the US's spat with Huawei that was obviously not going to be resolved any time soon. This was the closest like-for-like option, and hopefully should last me a good long while.
Still not impressed with the software. Which I guess both highlights how good the P30 Pro still was after five and a half years and how well polished their in house UI had become by that iteration. Given the praise that all the reviews I've read poured over all aspects of the Pixel though I do wonder if I've just got unreasonable expectations though.

Never had a problem with all the Samsung phones I've had Zel. Admittedly I don't use any alarm functions - no need! I'm quite a 'light' user so my demands on a phone are quite modest really. Nothing like yours I guess.
