That will be because you have taken major decisions that have been worried you for months, and now the worry has gone you are more relaxed and happier. Inmy case once I accepted some things about my life my life got easier. I know we are not religious, but here's a little prayer I say to myself quite often and helps me

Thats because although our conditions have different names they are really quite similar although mine is a bit more physical. I think our heads think really in quite similar ways! Also, im just 4 years younger than you and I fully expect in a few years time I will also have to take the decision you just have done and only have one hopefully easy maintainence vehicle. A disability scooter to get to the shops lol

I think you're right Davie but I hope that for neither of us it ends in a mobility scooter... I'm sure with care it won't...

What I'm noticing now is that after every relapse I never recover quite back to the point I was previously :( The general trend is down sadly...

It's funny when different interests cross over...

Was poking around the internet earlier this evening trying to refresh my memory of some trivial detail about a particular bus cab, and of course then ended up spending a couple of hours worth of clicking through Flickr.

Then spotted the background in this photo!

ImageIts a Bedford by Tim Machin, on Flickr

It is truly a small world.

Seem to be suffering serious "vintage coach withdrawal symptoms" this week for some reason. Which then leads to extremely dangerous searches being executed as my brain starts asking questions like "How much does it cost to..."

Ah, that moment when you're idly, curiously browsing eBay, and accidentally click "buy it now" rather than "add to watchlist"

Thank goodness for the confirmation screen!

Another good reason to browse on an actual computer rather than through the eBay app on my phone...buy it now is a one shot affair in the app...that could have been expensive.

Oops, strange thing is though it only seems to confirm IF the only method of payment is paypal. If they accept cash/bank transfer etc it can just go through without "warning" you... What was it you nearly dragged home?

I reckon a 1971 Plaxton.
Actually I don't know anything about coaches but I picked up some words on a forum I use.

This!

eBay Link

For the future when that link's dead, a 1984 Volvo B10M (Mk I) based Berkhof Esprit C53f coach. Rare old beast these days, especially on a Volvo chassis, pretty much every Berkhof I've seen has been either DAF or Scania based.

While I'd really prefer something a bit older (mid 70s is really my target, before the all the interior veneer gave way to sound deadening carpeted panels), I'd certainly not have complained!

...The others in the household on the other hand might have had something to say on the matter!

PS: Yes, those are early (pre 1987) Saab 900 headlights and sidelight/indicator lenses. Berkhof seem to like buying in lighting kit from outside, there's a model from the late 90s as I recall which features red and smoked tail lights normally seen on a late model Fiat Tipo if memory serves.

THAT must be a Gaelic prayer, it has the subtle humour hallmark.

Fastforwarding to mobility scooters, my son's already earmarked mine: it's chrome a trike, with big spoked wheels - & ape-hangers! They certainly have presence but wildly impractical (unlike any of my cars, of course) & in my dotage he obviously sees me as a superanuated biker. He's a worry, that boy!

I have to own up here, i actually do have a mobility scooter. Very infrequently used, only to go to the shop on days my legs dont want to work, and it will be used the next few days. My daughter is away for a few days, I an dog sitting her collie. Even on a good day I cant take him a long enough walk, so the scooter comes out, it gives him a good walk twice a day, which he needs. Even though my garden is secure thats not enough for him.
