I vaguely remember the gear level pivot 'ball' sitting in a rubbery seating, and this could go sloppy and eventually disintegrate.

Must admit my memory's a bit vague, but I do recall the symptoms suggested something much worse - if you weren't in the know.

Quirky S. American estates reminds me of a sighting in Germany which made me think "Not seen one for a long time, but that Type 3 (VW) seems rather short" & made me take a closer look - turned out to be a Brazilia!

Interesting. The wedge shape, the interior? Remember the days when Triumph thought a tartan interior was a good idea :-D

I've just looked all through that sale catalogue and found absolutely nothing that I would want to own.

All a matter of personal preference Gibbo. I think this SAAB is nicely presented, nice colour, but probably catches my attention because we had several SAAB's as family cars.

Youngest daughter had one of those - aero spec. Brilliant car but thirsty.
She then had a 900 cabriolet, bright yellow (The Bananamobile) that was identical to the 93 there was even a 93 near here (Birtley, used to pass it every morning) that was almost the same registration so likely came off the production line a few weeks apart.
Her elder sister has had two 93 cabriolets too :)

The two older girls were born in Sweden so it should have been the eldest and the middle one :)

Talking of being thirsty, one of the anomalies of the current classic car market, the price of certain Rolls Royces.

You will probably be able to get the 1982 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit Mk I for around £6,000 hammer price at that Auction. Surprised to find out that the 6.75L V8 powering that Rolls, is taxed at a lower rate than my Vectra 1.9 CDTI. I am in the process of dumping my diesel which I currently have on SORN. Not that there's much wrong with it....needs a new DPF/new tyres/ and taxing, but not worth that sort of routine maintenance and standing cost expenditure.

Bit of a chatty application of "tyre wall black" there :-D

Speaking of which I was reminded of the "ugly people carriers" thread that I can't seem to find, probably because it wasn't called that at all.

Rolls Royce Cullinan

£380,000

Bentley Bentyaga <£130,000

I thought the names were a joke until I saw the cars and prices.
The whole thing is a joke, a really bad one.

You would think that for that sort of money they could make them look at least half decent.

Congratulations to BMW & VW for making the Cadillac Escalade appear tasteful, attractive (almost), sensible & bordering on the affordable - all in all, no mean feat!

You want a REALLY ugly SUV? Saw the latest "Qashqow" this morning, extraordinary - a joke has morphed into a bad (& I mean BAD) joke!

Brightwells Leominster Sale today, hammer prices already posted up here

The three that took my interest were

I had a telephone bid on one of them, but someone else was prepared to pay more than myself, bearing in mind in addition to the hammer price it would have been £1000 ish on top in buyers premium and getting it back up here.

PS This one went for £7,000 hammer price, very nice in my opinion
