I suspect that, following Top Gear's ridiculing of it, this car will remain as a rightful member of this thread. However one has to think back to realise exactly what 'Super Deluxe' meant in 1971!! :-D

Looks lovely in red :D I've always liked the looks of the early Marina, especially the Coupe. Just such a terrible shame it had such rubbish mechanicals underneath the pretty clothes...

This fits on this thread at the moment but I wouldn't be surprised if it climbs up to the sister thread Classic for over 10k. A car my father-in-law had always wanted having had an earlier Mk IV Zephyr but he could never find one he liked!! :-D

I'm sorry to say bobins that despite totally admiring your classic Merc at lunch last week I'm afraid I have you topped here. Is there a better classic Merc on the planet? :-D

Oh, there definitely are :-D There's some gorgeous classic Unimogs out there - pure functionalness over everything else
Granted, though - that fire truck does have some useful additional features.

Handy for washing the garden out on to the drive and into the road on full whack!

Apart from his is manual, it's an exact match for my father in law's 6.

It's a big car, surprisingly not very roomy in the back, not so much headroom (which you might to be poor given the swoopy shape) rather it's quite narrow on the width so lacking in shoulder room for three adults in the back.
Diesel is very quiet.
I think he's had some DPF clogging related troubles but otherwise been okay.

One of those older than you would think it is cars, aged well!
