They harp on about it being a Paul Smith thing in the details...
Also includes:
Numerous invoices and receipts for work carried out since its registration Original Paul Smith brochure
Original manufacture book pack and service portfolio
Bespoke car cover
Paul Smith Mini key fob
Looks like some folk on e-bay reckon the brochure itself is worth over £100
Something funny going on, I buy the C4 then up came the Rover as a potential replacement for the Subaru, and now a potential replacement for the MX3 when I've used my available pot!!
Sometimes its good to read the stories rather than just a casual flick through the pictures.
This is a 1981 Skoda Super Estelle 105 S. At Mathewsons sale this weekend it has a guide price of £5,500 to £6,500. If you look at other cars in the auction, trailing in its wake many many lesser expected value examples from virtually all brands including Rolls Royce/BMW/Mercedes/Jaguar et al. Highly priced when new, but struggling to find buyers for a few grand now.
This Skoda...is it a really special one Here's the story, and the Derek walk through video.
The vendor has provided the following:
This rare survivor has an interesting history. Supplied new by Paul Wooding Ltd, Britannia Garage, Shipley to a Mr Oxley of Skipton. Mr Oxley kept the car until 1998 when his local MOT station told him that the car required some welding. He sold the car for £15 to a local scrap yard, Chris Watsons & Sons of Salterforth. In a letter on file, Mr Oxley states that when he drove the car to the scrap yard the mileage reading of 25,259 was correct. A little while later, the scrap yard sold the car on for £75 to a Mr & Mrs Nutter, who decided to rescue and restore the Skoda. Work carried out included the fitting of new wings, sills and a full respray in the original colour before storing the car in a heated and carpeted garage. The car has clearly led a charmed life since, and although it has been regularly MOT'd just 161 miles have been covered since it was restored. Comes with current V5 recording 4 registered owners, two past V5's, a letter from the first owner, 1998 sales invoice and a few MOT certificates. 25,420 miles
While Derek blunders through his anecdotes, in contrast this is an outstanding performance from the well-known Hub-Nut. As far as reviewers of cars go, Hub-Nut takes some beating. His vids are rarely under 10 mins and whether they are or not, appear unscripted and seamlessly just flow, any humorous element just comes naturally from his own personality without trying too hard.
As this is in TooLongDidn'tView territory, it is 18 minutes after all well past the attention span most of the 2024 audience, and on a niche car to boot, I haven't embedded it. Those who want to find out a bit more about a Skoda Estelle the link is here in the spoiler.
