I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Yet again I find myself wishing I still had my workshop although this would entail a conversion to Auto for me to use!!:

Re: Classic for under £10K
Ahh, the XM
I had three but could never quite 'gel' with them. In truth, the problem was they were too big for little old me, especially in the driver's seat department. Big enough to seat two of me in comfort and on the leather ones I used to slide all over the place...
I had a 24V V6 and it was, size apart, superb. I still think the XM is one of the best looking big Citroens ever...
Again and as usual, I much prefer the S1, or at a push, the S1.5 over the S2. I had an S1.5 2.0TCT with an LPG conversion...
My perfect XM would be the 24V PR V6 with the 4HP20 gearbox in an S1 body...
The S1 you link to is a very desirable one Mick... Get one early enough and it'll still have a carb on it... I see yours in the eBay ad has the old Bosch Motronic with the 'Flapper' AFM
Happily, no cats or emissions testing to worry about...
And, if you need the radio fixing, I have lots of form with them... I have a couple here still awaiting a rainy day to get around to repairing them..
If I had the space and a big enough workshop I would be Very tempted... Early XMs don't rot as badly as later ones

Re: Classic for under £10K
Very nice. That GSA could occupy a few of our FCF threads that car, gorgeous colour over at "Favourite Colours for cars", super dashboard for "Interiors and Dashboards (interesting and awful)".
-----------------------
I saw this chap wandering around at WB and sons, and came across the Channel in which he comes up with some interesting video's. This pair caught my eye, the second one on the Nissan Figaro because I saw a tip-top condition "Summer one" in pale aqua yesterday on our travels, and the first one which does a very decent job of telling the TR7/8 story following on from what appears to be personal renewed interest in that car.

Re: Classic for under £10K
Here's a little gem, currently in the boundary of this thread, which I am very tempted to consider swapping my MX3 for. Sadly I doubt I could afford to make up the likely difference in price at the end of the auction but I will be watching it!!

Re: Classic for under £10K
I hadn't noticed that, having been blinded by my love of them no doubt, but it wouldn't put me off. A useful guide you've linked to there Neil, thanks!!NewcastleFalcon wrote: 05 Apr 2023, 11:02Noticed it was a Category D Insurance Write off so I had a look and found this little guide.mickthemaverick wrote: 05 Apr 2023, 10:19 Here's a little gem, currently in the boundary of this thread, which I am very tempted to consider swapping my MX3 for.
