I had a 404 many years ago. It had fantastically comfortable seats and a Webasto sun roof and it was diesel! Grossly underpowered, couldn't stand the noise above 60 mph but up to that speed it was very nippy, unusual for a diesel in those days. Excellent column change too, no slop whatsoever. I liked it a lot. I don't think there are any left now, I haven't seen another one since I had mine

Ahh! The French Farina :D Superficially similar looks to the Morris Oxford/Austin Cambridge of the time... The 404 was practically indestructible and did sterling service all over Africa in horrendous conditions and seem to thrive on it... Often used as Taxis. Seen them in action :)

A truly iconic car...

That's the one Jim. I think the rust must have got the rest of them.

They rusted terribly here Peter but then everything did... Rust was never much of a problem in Africa...

Possibly the prettiest Peugeot of recent times, although for me the colour doesn't do it any favours: :-D

We had a BX turbo TZD Estate, for its day it was very fast, the wife loved it. We eventually passed it onto my son and some drunk person ran in to the back of it, wrote it off.

I really ought to have a ZX so that I have every model I write about in my CCC column!
