And if they are approaching with a can of Plus Gas (and a load of Torx tools) be even more so, as it would suggest that they REALLY know what they are doing, and not just chancing it!CitroJim wrote:If you see someone approaching a Xantia with a can of Plus Gas be worried, very worried...ACTIVE8 wrote:So us Xantia owners should be O.K. with our older models then!

I reckon anyone up to this sort of stuff drives a van. Driving home with a bumper over the rear seats or running with it over your shoulder is a big no no.

Re: A Car Theft With A Difference...
Reminds me of a few years back when the scrap metal prices had gone silly. Heard a lot of stories of project cars and such getting nicked to be weighed in.
Mate of mine had a Ford Cargo that had not moved in 15 odd years and stood in a field with a sign directing folks to his hotel nicked! Didn't even have an engine (or rear wheels for that matter) but they still had it.
Given how much some parts go for these days, especially on modern stuff it's not really that surprising.
Best stealth device I ever found? High vis jacket and a clipboard. Used them when I worked for the Council, and you could go virtually anywhere without anybody batting an eyelid. Including the police station I found when I was attending a meeting there one day!
