Bought "Convoy" about ten years ago to rip and send mp3s to a friend in NZ.
Never listened to it :(

Divertimento:-

Another facet of the Commander In Chief.

Although I am not taken with her singing she isn't bad. (She doesn't sing on this clip)
Trained by her mother in bel canto singing, it appears her mother was trained by the same person who trained Maria Callas and other top opera singers.
Her mother is also a singing instructor.

This is the 1st piano song released by internationally acclaimed 7string guitarist/singer/songwriter "The Commander-In-Chief."

Piano being her 3rd instrument, she encourages proper pianists to make versions of this song, since she uses piano for songwriting and does not consider herself a pianist at all :)

As the first guitarist to ever record guitar versions of violin masterpieces "Zigeunerweisen Op. 20" and "Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso" she has been on the "Top 10 viral videos" list in Guitar World Magazine in both 2013 and 2014, and on "top 10 Metal meets Classical" in leading newspaper The Guardian.

Her classical crossover album, a collaboration with leading classical guitarist Craig Ogden, charted at # 1 on Amazon.com in February 2015. http://www.commandermusic.com.

Dedicated to her younger brother Eric, the song was written, recorded live and filmed in March/April 2015.

I have to confess to total ignorance of Commander Cody.
At least she isn't CIF Trumpy.

He of the Lost Planet Airmen - although he did make a solo album called "Flying Dreams" - or some such, which (I think) is brilliant.

However it was CC & LPA who did "Hot Licks, Cold Steel & other Truckers' Favourites" which was supposed to have been concept album, it not being their genre.

Much better than one might expect.

And then there is Susanna Hoffs!

Haven't caught up on the craic down at the PE since coming back from hols but I have to bag the 1000th reply!

Heard some pleasant enough French stuff in "The Old Bank" coffee shop and bistro in Snettisham, have to see if I can track it down and post it up here ceremoniously

Regards Neil

PS and the artists featured on "The Old Bank" playlist included Madeline Peyroux, Pink Martini, and Koop

Madeline doing one of Leonard's

Pink Martini providing the background to a slice of la vie Parisienne

Koop doing a live version featuring Ane Brun

You've no idea how much planning it took to ensure you got the 1000th reply. It's been like a military operation down at the PE :-** 8-[ :^o

Thanks,at least you have the honour of bagging what I would describe as "The Big Big Carpet" reply :-D

Perhaps only those pre decimalisation FCF members with a spare half a crown to spend on cleaning products will get my drift on that on that one.

"It’s all dirt and dust,
But don’t you get fussed,
The answer is easily found,
Remember:
One Thousand and One
Cleans a big, big carpet
For less than half a crown!"
